The OP has not paid anything to Octopus.The supply was transferred, but no billing or DD has been set up. They have simply built credit on their Eon account in the absence of a gas bill.[Deleted User] said:The rules are here:

Basically, you should be put back into the position that you were in prior to the ET. Octopus should refund you all money paid to them (supplier to supplier is possible): E.oN should bill you as if you had never left. ET reverse complete: you can then switch if you so wish.No free lunch, and no free laptop
