How long did they have the car for may be a pointer, ie buying selling privately as a business but not declaring it.
So when did they buy the car - you should be able to get an idea of hpi/the v5 etc - was it quick turn over?

What reaso did they give for selling, I'm assuming you asked.

    Thanks

They had the car for about 9 months, don't think they're a seller, don't look like one at all. No other cars advertised on his profile. They seems honest about it otherwise.

Reason of selling I was told is downgrading and saving money.
    Hey
the link I posted re your previous thread, is it the same car?

    Thanks

No proof, private sale, cheap price......unfortunately I think you are scr*w*d. If you "go legal" it will cost far more than you will gain both financially and mentally. Best just get it fixed, use it for as long as you can, learn from the experience and get on with your life...

2 cars bought in under a year and problems with both

I dont think you have any comeback on this latest one but you can take lessons from both sales and do some due diligence before you purchase and maybe take someone along with you when viewing

it would have been good to update you first thread with the conclusion

Does MOT history show that information?

No - it doesn't - although if a car was off-road for a long period you might see an unexplained gap in the MOT history but most people wouldn't notice. My car was un-MOT'd for around 9 months a few years ago, as it was someone's weekend car, and it wasn't being used - so I know why, but it could be that it was sitting in pieces awaiting repair and not a chance of passing an MOT.
