My dad is with EON Next and has E7, it took me ages to figure out how to get the two readings from his smart meter, and the IHD doesn’t give the readings at all. I eventually worked out to press number 6 and then scroll through and in the case of this meter I get R1 for day rate and R2 for the night rate, although it could be the other way round, I just check against his last bill. Although his SM does send readings to EON Next so I only read when the prices change, just for our own records.fromdusktilldawn said:
I have had a similar experience with EON Next. Smart meter installed before Christmas, still not working. Impossible to contact via any sensible route. I tried to contact them online and was given a phone number, which just ends up in a long queue with no indication of how long to wait for an answer. The added complication for me is Economy 7 - the smart meter is much harder to read manually than the old meter - wish I hadnt bothered. Comments noted with interest, it might be time to complain more formally.helpfulflowers said:Complain, providing you can prove when you first raised the issue, such as a complaint, after 8 weeks take it to the Energy Ombudsman, regardless of whether SP have responded, after 8 weeks you can escalate to the Ombudsman. I did this after EON Next ignored me.
Perhaps your meter is the same type.0 -
I admit I wanted a smart meter, and for years EON told me they couldn’t install one in my flat. Then one day out the blue they called and said they could, this was November 2020, I jumped at the chance but from day one the gas was problematic, it took two years before EON finally admitted they should NOT have installed it as it would never have worked. I believe from the offset they were simply installing them to reach government targets, knowing full well it wouldn’t work. Finally, two weeks ago they were replaced with the updated dual band technology so finally I have smart meters that work.0

It's unusual for such a team to be dismissive of attempts to contact them.2 -
If you are still trying to get through to Scottish Power try raising a complaint through resolver - Scottish Power do actually respond to complaints raised in that way and maybe someone somewhere is taking notice of just how appalling SP really is ...Debt Free Wannabe by 1 December 2027

Deep seated hatred of Scottish Power and all who sail in her - would love to see Ofgem grow a pair and actually do something about it.0 -

I will try the number you have posted in case its a different one.SiliconChip said:photome said:I have also found it impossible, been trying to let them know about my fathers death and getting my mum registered as the home owner/bill payer

Not sure of the implications of the bills still being in my fathers name as my mum is now paying the bills
just to add, I spent a week after his death sorting out everything for my mum and Scottish Power was the only organisation that I couldnt get hold of0
