Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was LO roast no waste. Tonight not sure what we'll be having, but will organise later as it's my half day working at the other office.
Work wasn't too bad yesterday.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC - pleased to hear that work was all right for you yesterday, I know it isn't always.Yesterday was so cold, with sharp showers, I hope it's a bit warmer today..We didn't do much apart from the quiz, and i met up with a friend. I really must do some grocery shopping today, I've been saying that for days - I know we try and save money, but the essentials are getting down and I can see room in the freezer, though I don't mind that. The freezer was a bit too full anyway.Hope everyone has a good day, also hoping our poorly people are feeling a bit better.Take care folks.10

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
My job this morning is to mark who hasn't turned up for work on their HR records, so their pay and pension is deducted. What a lovely job NOT. I also have three more "sorry you don't have a job after end of March" letters to send out this week. I had an approach yesterday from FC to see if I want to find out about being a consultant. Nothing to lose by going along on Sunday to a talk with tea and (hopefully) low fat snacks!
I really enjoyed my egg, chips and beans last night. I had the house to myself - no DH, no pup, no kids, for the first time in years! Is it wrong to say I loved it! Did some cross stitch last night and was watching the Ben Fogle series - a lovely couple in Tuscany in the middle of nowhere with their two children. Looked hard work but so peaceful.
Washing to do today, and I have another Bay of E parcel to post. Dinner tonight is SW easy chicken curry.
Hope you're feeling better today @camelot1001 x

Morning Everyone and thank you for starting us off nmlc.
It is my monthly meeting at the village hall today and I go with my neighbour. We are only a small group. We have tea/coffee and biscuits and have a chat. We also sometimes play cards and bingo and arrange meals out.
I love egg & chips and am very lucky because my neighbour gives me eggs from her hens.
Hope everyone has a 'wonderful Wednesday'. Iris xx

Morning folks. February is here at last! What scary weather here yesterday, the winds were the strongest I've encountered for about five years. The day was intermittently pleasant though interspersed with short burst of hard rain, then about 5pm the really nasty stuff started. There are reports of felled trees but no power outages. The winds only died down early this morning so my fingers are crossed for all to remain calm today. My fridge door shelf got cleaned and put back, then I spotted the muck in the freezer door seal which I tackled. No idea how it gets there. Anyway, after that I slothed around, stayed under my electric throw and watched recorded Father Brown.Today I'm taking my friends up to Oban, final trip with them as the husband picks up his new car when there. I'll miss our weekly trips so will make the most of their one-way company.Coxy - such a sad part of your work, but exciting news about FC.Big hugs to our poorlies (I think that the dreaded cough is coming my way) and those looking after family and friends. Happy new February Wednesday to all.11

Morning all. Tried to see the green comet, no such luck, mostly cloudy skies and then I just got too tired. OH very chuffed, he saw an Apache yesterday going overhead and when I say overhead, I mean not very far overhead. Wonder what that was about, we've never seen one before. Dinner at OHs mums was lovely, she'd got some Morrisons pies and they were nice, pastry was lovely. She was talking to the butcher and apparently they buy them in and then cook on the premises so as I love all the pies, I'll be making a trip there before long. Today, opticians to check why I keep seeing shadows of whatever I'm looking at underneath what I'm looking at, shower and back on the Great Empty. I finished sorting out the grain for the compost yesterday and looked in one, it's over 40 degrees, and the other has just shifted up past 20, which is fair considering it went in there stone cold and 3/4 full straightaway. I love going to look at my ocmpost bins and lifting the lids to see how hot they are. Sounds boring, but it cheers me up...You can see the steam coming off it in this weather too,Scarlet, I have to go shopping too, for veg mostly, but I keep putitng it off. Trouble is, the longer I put it off, the more there is on the list :)Coxy, what a soul destroying job that sounds. Hope the FC thing comes off for you just for light relief [pun not intended...] iris, looks like egg and chips is going ot be on all the menues before long, I quite fancy it now. Gers, enjoy your last day of taxi driving, just think you've probably had the best customers ever! snoozer, good idea! I keep seeing them offered on MP, mabe I'll invesitgate. I do like a nice bread and my father was a baker, he used ot make fresh bread very occasionally, it was lovely. Right, take care all the unwells, or can't be bothereds or low mooders, wrap up, indulge, enjoy your days if you can.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Morning All
Wet and breezy again today, glad you survived the storm without losing power Gers.
So pleased you like your new bedroom carolbee.
So sorry to hear of your DS's friends death Coxy, so young too. Must be a horrid job having to tell folk they no longer have a job.
Hope your Dad has his new microwave sorted Nanny, always a chore having to read the manual!
Feeling better again this morning, will be going back to work tomorrow, can't go back today as I was sick yesterday, will be glad when this passes.
Washing just finished, will put it on the airer, second load to go in once I've had a shower.
Hugs to the poorlies. Take care. XX

Hi everyone,
Yesterday afternoon and evening went well. Steve;s appointment was fine although, interestingly he found out that there is some research going on into random infections which people seem to be getting after his particular chemo treatment. Steve has certainly had a few which have needed hospitalisation and a friend of ours who had the same treatment for leukaemia has been in hospital a few times with sepsis. However, it's still better than the alternative.
We then went over to Ely for a launch event for Elly Griffiths new book. We struggled to find somewhere to have a bite to eat but eventually ended up in a pub where I had scampi and chips but we thoroughly enjoyed the talk even though the cathedral was very cold. It took me a while to warm up afterwards. We had a late night because both children were very unsettled, Esben was screaming which is very unlike him and Esther too cried a lot with wind, poor little things. Everyone seems to be coughing and spluttering today apart from me but no doubt I'll succumb eventually.
I need to make another loaf today and I think we'll have spag bol for dinner. I want to have a go at the kitchen which is becoming a bit (lot) disorganised. I also want to get a bit of sewing in, then tonight I want to watch Sort your life out which simultaneously makes me happier with my lot and gives me the urge to lay out the contents of our loft somewhere to sort out.
I hope all the poorly people are as well as possible.
Have a good day.12 -
Morning everyone
Still windy here but at least the daylight is lasting a little bit longer now - really noticed it the last couple of days.
I'm not working today but need to go into town and then to mam and dads as I wasn't there at the weekend. A friend sent me a parcel more than a week ago and I'm going to check at the sorting office to see if it's there. You used to be able to phone but they don't have a local number anymore so there's no way of checking unless you have a card. They're only open between 8 and 10am...so musn't be too keen on visitors either!
Then a quiet afternoon is planned - I have a course to do for nursery and a book to read.
I did have a doctors appointment this afternoon but the surgery rang last night to cancel it as the doctor had gone home ill - they'll make me another one when she's back.
We have a meeting tonight about the proposed closure of our school and what we can do to fight it - hopefully it will be well supported.
Gers - enjoy your trip out
Coxy - not a nice thing to have to do - hope the meeting on Sunday goes well
Iris - enjoy your meeting
Better go and get dressed. Have a good day everyone x10 -
