    That's shocking!

    Since they only recommend them, you can shop around at your leisure.
    Was it a recommendation by the garage or an observation on the MOT itself?

    It was an advisory on the MOT itself.

    Why not just post their name or is it top secret and would breach national security?
    If this outfit have genuinely quoted £1k there's nothing to fear.

    I asked the name and you have PM,d me BUT the reason for naming and shaming these companies is to warn others so they do not get ripped off.
