CANCELLED! Morrisons Chesterfield and Euro Car Parks

Just starting this thread in case we learn anything useful about this particular site we can share for others.
Got Notice To Keeper (though only arrived a day before 14days from issue), I wasn't the driver. I've read all the stuff, submitted complaint to Morrisons via online, parking-specific form (as a first step) as it's not a branch we go to regularly, so at least it's done, but will also go in personally to try to talk to the Store Manager, as recommended by others.
It's an overstay of under 40 minutes in a 2hr limited car park - the Morrisons they go to more regularly don't have limits, and also just lost track of the time. But they were in the store and the cafe the whole time, and still somehow has 2 receipts out of 3 for transactions made during that time (also provided with the online form).
Just checking back with the Newbies stickie to see if I should do the Euro appeal now, or wait a day or so (but still well within the 28 days) to see if we get anything out of an in-person visit to the branch. Will report back when we have updates.

Exhaust the Morrisons complaint first, but don't miss the deadline for your appeal to ECP if you're getting close to the wire without a resolution.ECP are pretty benign currently, so nothing to concern you really. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Having been taken to court once (hadn't realised the 'just ignore it' advice had changed, and the NTK crossed in the mail when I was updating DVLA. I won though - it was genuinely unreasonable and the advocate wasn't prepared for, well, me being prepared, thanks to this forum!) I'm incredibly deadline-cautious. But also incredibly over-capacity with life, so have multiple reminders and alarms this weekend to make sure we don't miss it.2

Well this is interesting...Our 28 days isn't up yet. Got another 5 days as per the NTK.(screenshot from ECP appeals pages...)
I got an automated confirmation from Morrisons that they'd received my submission, and a follow up email from a real person saying they were 'looking into it', but no confirmation that they were going to get it cancelled. I'm hoping that this means that that's what they've done, though...2 -
Success! Got an email from Morrisons. I've forced my pedantic self to not care about the fact that their email got facts wrong - it's not pay & display, and the time limit is 2hrs - because it's cancelled, and that's the main thing.
Text of email below:
"Thank you for contacting us.I am sorry you have received a parking charge when visiting with us recently.
To help us make sure there are plenty of car parking spaces for our customers we do operate a pay and display policy and a 1.5-hour limit but we know sometimes 1.5 hours might not be enough time if you are doing a large shop or want to grab a bite to eat or if you simply need a little extra time.
With this in mind should you find you do need more time to shop with us please let our colleagues know on the Customer Service Desk have your registration number and they will make sure you do not receive a charge.
It’s great that you enjoy shopping with us and as a much valued customer we are happy to cancel the parking charge for you.
Any payments made will be refunded within 14 days."

It looks like you're right @Umkomaas But also Morrisons' language seems to have softened since the days of 'as a gesture of goodwill' 'on this occasion' that I've seen others quote on this board.Umkomaas said:Exhaust the Morrisons complaint first, but don't miss the deadline for your appeal to ECP if you're getting close to the wire without a resolution.ECP are pretty benign currently, so nothing to concern you really.3 -
I've never seen a complaint to Morrisons refused, so I knew you'd succeed. For others reading this, the certainty relates only to exclusive Morrisons sites; where Ms are occupants of a store on a large multi outlet retail park, it's much different. Complaints then should be directed to the managing agent servicing the car park.GasGrr said:
