Lodge paper certificate (a lodging I think. I have a paper certificate for these shares but they are definitely held online and I've logged in this morning to see them there).

Just trying to have a solution that's not too convoluted but for sentimental reasons allows me to retain the paper certificate (if I sell them and re buy its not even for the same shares anymore is it?)...Have you any memory of any letters from them telling you that your paper certificate holding was being moved online rather than your paper certificates being needed for any sale, as it sounds to me as though your online access may only be holding a record of what you own rather than proof of ownership, which is the actual paper certificates. If your online access really is only a record then unfortunately you'll need to lose the paper certificates as you'll need to get the stock certificates held online, which will mean you'll need to send your paper certificates to the online platform of your choice. My OH has just had to go through this process and we chose IWeb who we already have S&S ISAs with. They were very quick and only took 2 days between receiving the umpteen certificates and it appearing on her IWeb investment account.Actually she had two holdings showing with Equinity, and it was the holding that was not in a Corporate Sponsored Nominee account that needed to the paper certificates to be transferred.0
