I need to replace boiler. I got the option of Ideal Exclusive 2 and Ideal Logic Max - both of 30 kW capacity. However, the Exclusive is £500 cheaper overall.
My gas engineer says they are internally identical, only the controls and user interfaces are different.
The Exclusive comes with 5 year warranty and Logic with 10 year warranty.
So which one to choose?

Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

Does your RGI only install Ideal? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Not really, but I have got Ideal boiler on my other house so happy to go with them again.
I can get Main/Baxi boiler of same capacity at same price of Ideal Exclusive 2.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
I'd be looking at Viessmann, Vaillant and WB unless you are looking for a budget install. With a minimum 10 year warranty. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Well they are all more expensive. The house will be tenanted so I'm not looking to install an expensive boiler.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

What will your budget boiler cost you in maintenance and repairs over those ten years though? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I have a 30kw ideal logic+ boiler & it’ll have been in for nearly 10 years by this summer. It’s maintenance has cost the yearly services at approximately £60-£70 a time. It’s never skipped a beat & every gas person has commented on how clean it is inside when servicing it.0
