Hi MSE newbie here. Can anyone recommend a simple computer programme to record household expenses. Ideally one that can draw in statements from Lloyds Bank but if that's not possible that's ok. I need something fairly straightforward as I'm not great with tech

Why do you need a computer prog - could you use a cashbook and a pen ?
If you need a computer then maybe use an Excel spreadsheet ?0 -
I've used Microsoft Money for around 20 years. It's no longer being updated but the last version has worked fine with every version of Windows that I've had up to 11. It is able to import transactions from some banks although it's not something that I use and I don't know if Lloyds is one that provides transactions in a format that Money can use - but I find it relatively straightforward to manually enter and reconcile transactions from 8 current accounts, 8 savings accounts and 7 credit cards.0

Money Dashboard may fit the bill for you. You can access it online and there is also an app.
There are two versions; Classic and Neon. Neon is newer and I think better.

I find the classic version of Money Dashboard much more useful and aligned to what the OP is looking to do.
It uses open banking to connect to your bank and provided your account is supported then it is much easier than Microsoft Money to use.1 -
I am glad that you have given this information as I only use it as an aggregator for 15 odd accounts. I have no need for financial analysis functions as I use an Excel spreadsheet.400ixl said:I find the classic version of Money Dashboard much more useful and aligned to what the OP is looking to do.

I have heard that some other people also prefer the Classic version for financial analysis.
I believe that you can use both versions of Money Dashboard independently so Sarah6040 could try both out if she wanted.
I haven't used MS Money for many years but never really took to it.0 -
