I run appliances/fill battery overnight when prices are low, which is basically when it's windy. I also alter when/how I use electricity depending if the sun is shining on my panels or not.

Most folks on TOU tariffs will do this, it's the whole point of having them. Not sure how a comparison tool could account for weather variations and compare tariffs.

I think that’s it - the data stays where it is until it is pulled.
Smart meters retain import data for 13 months and export data for 3 months. The ultimate aim is for price comparison websites to use smart tools to ‘pull’ 12 months of import data from the meter which not only shows total usage but when the energy has been used. This will be needed for time-of-use tariff comparisons:

Thanks Dolor - again, I'd remembered that there was "a timescale" but not what it was. This is the great thing about this place - when you aren't confident of the detail on something you can make that clear to avoid risk of misleading, then someone who DOES have the knowledge will come along and confirm or deny!

    Hi
Many thanks for the puka info, appreciated

Btw, for some reason the link has to be cut and pasted as when I click over it it does not work - however, it takes you to the right place via cut and pasting into the bar at the top of the laptop

    Thanks :)
  • Link works for me when just clicking as usual so perhaps an issue with your device diy.
