Armtrac security services - Lusty glaze car park

My son has received a letter from bwlegal representing KBTCornwall Ltd t/a Armtrac Security Services stating they had issued a county court claim against him. They are now wanting to arrange a repayment plan to prevent a CCJ against him.
The parking offence was for parking in a car park in Newquay on 2/6/22 - the ticket machine was at the time not working and my son had to download an app to make payment with the added issue of the signal being poor in this part of Newquay. This delayed the payment for parking by approx 20 mins from entering the carpark to payment. He then made enough payment which covered beyond the time he spent there, he has proof of this payment.
The said company are pursuing payment for this and are now trying to charge a balance of £256.18.
He has tried to speak with bwlegal about this but their only interest is with recovering the alleged debt.
I wonder what is the best way to deal with this.
Any advice would be gratefully accepted

I recommend you read the Newbies thread to understand the claim and defence process.Absolutely no point in talking to Armtrac or any other PPC. Almost all just want your money and are not interested in acting fairly.
It doesn’t sound like your son has actually received a County Court Claim form yet.
Have BW Legal actually sent your son a Letter before / of Claim giving you 30 days to respond. They must do this before issuing a court claim. If not wait until they send you a letter of claim or you receive a claim form from CCBC.
Your son can defend this in court and most judges will find in his favour especially if their payment machine was broken and he has evidence that he found an alternative means to pay for his stay. Even if he lost he would probably pay less than what BWLegal are claiming.
Meanwhile try searching the forum for Armtrac cases. Loads of examples for you to look at and learn from.
Chances are if you defend this robustly the scammers will discontinue or face losing in court1 -
What is the date of BW's letter saying they filed a claim? Where is that claim?
No phoning them!
If no Claim Form has arrived, phone the CCBC at Northampton and ask about when this claim was issued and its current status. Tell them it HAS NOT ARRIVED and to mark the claim case file accordingly. Ask for an urgent email of the Particulars of claim immediately, so you can defend.
Then go read the Template Defence thread!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
