I have 12k saved up in a help to buy ISA but I am struggling to understand what happens with the bonus/what it goes towards to.
Could someone simplify the explanation of this for me?

Quick summary. Solicitor/Conveyancer advises you when to close account and forward closure statement to them. Solicitor/Conveyancer claims bonus. Solicitor/Conveyancer adds bonus to pool of funds needed for completion. Solicitor/Conveyancer pays you back any surplus which may have accrued due to you paying a larger deposit for exchange of contracts because the bonus wasn't available at that time.I am a mortgage broker.
