Morning everyone
Nice bright morning here - it's forecast to be a dry week though windy.
Topsy - good luck from me too
Well I'm back to being able to talk today although still croaky. Yesterday I could only whisper all day - I saw lots of people I knew from school and nursery at the panto and had to say 'I've lost my voice' in an apologetic way as if I'd just mislaid it somewhere! I felt like I should have made a sign to hold up!
Little one loved it - especially the sparkly costumes and Buttons, who was played by the son of one of the dinner ladies at school so I'll have to remember to tell her.
There was lots of innuendo which had the adults roaring with laughter and just flew over the heads of the children - they laughed at their adults laughing. Two young lads played the ugly sisters and they were hilarious. ..though little one didn't like them being mean to Cinderella.
DD picked us up and we went back and had pizza for tea at their house. It was a lovely afternoon, even though I couldn't join in with the singing!
So this week I'm starting work at lunchtime, hopefully I'll feel better than doing whole days twice a week. I have a doctors appointment on Wednesday - I'm assuming my brain scan was ok as she wasn't in a hurry to see me.
Camelot - I hope you manage to get a doctors appointment. They've changed the system here so you get given a phone appointment first and then the doctor decides if they need to see you.
Carolbee - the town where I live is on that train route - I love watching peoples' reactions as they watch the view coming along the coast.
Well I'll wish you all a good day and get some jobs done x12 -
Morning Everyone - Thank you for starting us off nmlc.
It's a lovely morning here, the sun is shining, so I might go for a walk later on.
Yesterday's curry turned out ok and is in the fridge ready to be portioned up.
My neighbour is seeing her consultant today, so I'll pop round later on today to see how she got on.
Hope you all have a good day. x11 -
Hi everyone,
Good luck Topsy.
dp1, I hope your voice continues to recover, I'm glad you enjoyed the panto.
Good luck with the weigh in Izzy, I really must get on top of my chocolate addiction again.
I was going to take Esben to music class this morning but he's been coughing all weekend so Laura's decided not to send him. I have to feed the sourdough starter ready to make more bread, hopefully it will soon become second nature. The thing I don't like is discarding half the starter each time you feed it, it seems very wasteful. I have been wondering if some of my stomach problems are being caused by yeast so I shall see if cutting it out as much as possible will help.
Have a good day.12 -
Morning all. Didn't get back yesterday, the computer was on fire with gaming...mostly OH. I fetched some shredded paper and did my compost again, I now have half a bag left of spent grains, but one of the bins is steaming hot so that's obviously working. I had to cut up the paper, it was in long strips instead of in bits so my hand is full of sausage fingers and glue this morning. One more bag to cut up. Hospital today to check out a lumpy mole and yes, more chucking things away. And make some kind of concoction with the peppers that have probably defrosted by now in the fridge and some pork mince or whatever else is in the freezer. I need a bit of shopping, not much, onions, eggs, flour and fat free yoghurt for flatbreads. Should be paid for with points so no money spent there. I just have to only go where I'm supposed to and not browse the exciting sections...i.e. the rest of the shop.Happy belateds to Coxys son..topsy, goign to have to say good luck, can't say the other one...bella, put them outside your door, see if anyone takes them away...Izzy, slow the procreation down!
snoozer, sounds nice then. Can't you use the discarded bit to make the bread?.Right, hugs n stuff to anyone not on form, pom poms to the the well, take care!

Morning all
Not as cold here today so will hold off lighting the fire till this afternoon, I have got a wash on the go so that will have to go on the airer.
DD is taking mum to hospital again later for her jab in the eyewe are hoping this will be one of the last ones, mum said it doesn’t hurt but it’s the thought of it that puts her off.
Not sure about dinner tonight will go and rummage after this.
Sorry I missed the Birthdays yesterday so Happy Birthday xxx
Good luck for today Topsy xx
have good days all xx11 -
Morning all,Yes I missed the birthdays too so belated greetings to you.Camelot and dp1 hope you feel better soon, afternoons only sounds like a plan dp1.RR that was nice of Nels, DH's endeavours on Sat. night with his Greek menu went down very well with DB and SIL, and me. The ouzo the men finished off with went down very well too- a little too well, they both struggled to wake up, & apparently DB didn't get as far as the bed, woke up the next morning on the setteeDH had to be up to go and watch DGDs football, played on a freezing windy pitch. Took us ages to get warm once home. In the afternoon we went to our friends, not seen them for a while. Did roast beef etc., a bit left too.Not sure about tonight yet, I'll rummage in the freezer shortly.Good luck today Topsy!:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all, I had a slothful day yesterday apart from making the cake which is delicious but I may try using the air fry function rather than bake next time. I decided to cover the cake with chocolate frosting but knocked the spoon and it splattered all over the floor, I cleaned it up but I'll clean the whole kitchen floor today, just in case I've missed a bit.
I'm now waiting for my sm delivery and everything is in stock. It's mainly fresh fruit, veg, milk and store items. Oh ! and coffee, but I forgot the tea bags 🤨 We're now both back on diets so hopefully it will be easier as Mr Fix It is on board too, so smaller portions and no biscuits it is then. We'll just have to have slithers of cake too, then no more cake either.
This morning I've emptied the dw, filled it with the breakfast dishes and cleaned down the worktops. I've got a wash in the wm, our DIY clothes which have been sitting in the basket for a week. Tea tonight will be hm spag bol as I found a tub when doing the freezer tidy, I'll only have to cook the pasta but no crusty bread with it.
Topsy fingers crossed that your interview goes well today.
RedRuby hope Mum gets on well with her eye injection.
taff hope the mole is ok and no treatment is required.
Snoozer poor Esben, hope he feels better soon.
dp1 glad you and little one enjoyed the panto and your voice returns soon.
Scarlet you put me to shame by sorting your wardrobe. The bottom of mine looks like a jumble sale of shoes !
Bella does your tip have a second hand shop ? Ours does and you can take items for them to sell very cheaply.
Camelot I hope you got a doctors appointment today.
Well done to the dieters Izzy and Coxy, hope I can follow in your footsteps and lose some weight.
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones, the poorly relatives and those recuperating.
nan xx

Nanny Unfortunatly not when we popped the cardboard down at the weekend for recycling i said to DH its a shame this site doesn't have a recycling shop i have tried on the local free pages i will try once more this week but if no takers then i will break up and at least as solid wood it will be recycled
Topsy I hope DS is ok and the graze isn't too bad hopefully everything will be ok and you find 5 minutes to catch your breath x

Topsy, I hope ds is ok.
taff, as far as I understand it you need to feed the starter so that it activates and bubbles to make the bread rise so the discarded bit wouldn't work for bread. However, it may be useful for other things, once I am in the swing of things with the bread I shall investigate, I think I saw pancakes mentioned. I can see that I shall be making a loaf almost every day but the way it's made isn't very time consuming, there is no real kneading involved, it just needs short periods of attention.10
