Fire door or normal door?

I need to replace an internal door in the passage of upstairs in my home. This door separates 2 parts of the house in the passage. There are few rooms + stair in one side of the door and 2 other rooms in other side of the door.

The current door is tatty so I want to replace this and fit a key operated standard lock as well (as burglary deterrent).

Do I need to fit a fire door or normal internal door?

Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

If it's a two storey house then it doesn't
need to be a fire door.  If it's three storey it does.

I prefer fire doors anyway because they have more weight to them. It costs more to fit some doors than it does to buy them, so you may as well get a good one.

I read that fire doors need 44 mm door frame. My door frame is 35 mm. So not sure if I can fit fire door even if I want.

    Decision made.

If you want something that feels decent, just check the weight of the doors in the specification online.

Locking internal doors is not a deterrent to burglars. In fact it creates more damage as they knock through it. Keeping them out in the first place is important.
