Advice on trip to Greece

Planning first ever trip to Greece in May. Would like to visit Athens but be based within traveling distance, preferably by a beach. Any suggestions welcome. Also tips on money saving ways of doing it please. Would like a decent hotel. Thanks

    Check AirBnb instead of the hotels. Stayed in couple of hotels in Athens (budget once) and all of them were kinda dodgy. For this money you can find a better accommodation of AirBnb
