Transformation Tuesday
So what's that all about then. 😂🤣.It's about taking the time to think about your long term goal (s) and taking one small step towards achieving it. Every Tuesday, 😉It doesn't matter what that goal is but it must be meaningful to you. Dont let anyone else determine what that should be, you get to want what you want, without a need for justification or explanation to others, not even your family. This is just about you, your life. It could be having more money, weight loss, a better social life, finding romance, starting a business - you get to decide.Let's look at the goal of a better social life, (something I need to work on). For many new singletons It soon becomes apparent that our social landscape has changed. We find our opportunities for getting out and about and enjoying social engagements have diminished, Shyness and loss of confidence might be holding us back. Covid isolation won't have helped. So the first step to building a vibrant and active social life to find out what's out there, preferably fairly local to where you live. It might be a choir, a book club, a history group, a walking group, photography group, amateur dramatics, the Womens Institute, sewing or craft classes. You get the idea. You might even be able to combine two goals, getting fitter and meeting new people by joining a slimming group or exercise classes, maybe joining a gym. And of course there's always that tried and tested standby - volunteering.Again it's about shaking it all up - new ways of thinking and taking the first steps.Scary.?? Well it can be but sometimes we just have to step out of our comfort zone, otherwise we arent going to be going anywhere. If your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough. So start your long term transformation today, take action with just one small step.16 -
Funny you should mention Transformation Tuesday, I was just thinking about maybe looking into local social activities that I could take part in once I retire (last work day 21 Feb, just 8 shifts to go, not that I'm counting of course.....)
My Choir is part of a national choir with groups all round the country (www.rockchoir.com). We have just finished learning Jolene, we are currently doing Go Your Own Way and the final song for this term will be She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5. All good uplifting stuff.
My cat has plonked himself on my lap, time for his antibiotic ear drops, poor thing. He has mucky ears which got infected, no ear mites, thankfully. He'll hate me for this, for about ten seconds then I will be forgiven. Until next time.

Helen, your words are so inspiring thank you for taking the time to start this thread and to post your ideas. I am loving the idea of Magical Mondays and Transformation TuesdaysDebt free and Keeping on Track8

Does anyone else call it warpaint?! I often find myself muttering 'a waste of valuable warpaint ' as I decide to let my skin breathe and save some money. I get excited when I put it on now as it's an occasion though totally understand that others may see it differently. I like pricey makeup and skin care and have to keep an eye on my budget. Have subscribed @helensbiggestfan ...I found the old thread difficult sometimes and still can't quite put my finger on why though self-promotion could well be part of it. Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx13

I call it fake-up. I will put it on when I have to go somewhere I really don’t want to, work meeting or socially.
the magical monday comments reminded me of Anne of Greengables when she renamed roads and ponds as “the white way of delight”, and “the lake of shining waters” so they sounded prettier.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?13 -

The feel of this thread is very different and I understand what @Humdinger1 means about self promotion, this thread feels like a lovely supportive group, well done Helen, I see we made the Facebook page too!
thank youCarolbee10 -
Oh dear........
The old thread started out as a very supportive group but then a few posters came along and started "promoting themselves". Not literally, as in selling a company or product but perhaps metaphorically as in "I have done this". It all felt a bit me, me, me and tbh i didn't like it one bit. That is why I stopped posting as often.Let's hope the same thing doesn't happen again.Facebook eh. Does that mean we are famous. 😂🤣. I have to confess I am a hopeless technophobe, can anyone please supply a link or direct me to it.PS. Found it.
I have had a great day....My first step for Transformation Tuesday and upgrading my social life was to join the local library. They had a little local magazine which is published monthly, which as well as the usual village news and adverts for local tradespeople etc lists all the clubs and activities. Looks like there are some interesting clubs I can try.15 -
Loving this new thread. I used to read the other one but agree that despite being on a money saving platform, it seemed to be anything but. Several members just reporting how much they'd spent on outings and items. It didn't really resemble a 'lemonade budget' tbh.
I'm in my 50s, married with grown up children. Two youngest are at uni so we're supporting them through their studies. It's crippling but makes us mindful in other areas, so we have sinking funds and use frugal ways with food, clothes etc.
Have just had a phone call about a possible side hustle to my main job. Maybe that's my Transformation Tuesday win for today!
Looking forward to what Wednesday might bring

Hi all, Helen helped me on the widow thread 5 years ago and I was reading along with the other thread but find myself agreeing with Poppy.
I have been for my nails done today, I started having them done a few months ago as my nails had started splitting down their length, I was unable to file it away. I love having nice nails so although it’s an expense I do really appreciate how it makes me feel.
I'm looking forward to a meal out for my gdsons birthday at the weekend , and dressing up plus catching up with everyone.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.8
