Thinking of buying a diesel Corsa van 5yr old with 140k miles and in my opinion the high mileage shouldnt be an issue, the van is in excellant condition with full service history.I will only be doing about 8000 miles a year but it will include a good 100 mile round trip every 2 weeks just wondering if anybody else has any concerns that i may have missed

If you are moving from a car to a van, check insurance prices. A lot of companies won't insure vans, so an existing car policy won't transfer, and van insurance tends to be more expensive.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

If it's 5 years old it will be the Corsa E model (not E as in the new electric Corsa, that's actually a Corsa F model) or what is known as the X15 (2014 to 2019).
The 1.3 diesel engine is Fiats Multijet engine and comes with either 75 or 85hp.
It's known for some cam chain problems.
It's thought it's not the actual chain that is the problem but the tensioners wearing which can lead to rapid chain wear and chain failure.
Oil dilution is the culprit. Post injected fuel for the DPF regen gets into the sump, degrading the oil and reducting oil pressure to the timing chain tensioner.
Problems can start from as little as 70,000 miles.2
