Yesterday's excursion went well. The weather wasn't as glorious as Thursday though mostly dry. Before I left for Campbeltown I cleared out the car boot then loaded it with all the cardboard and recycling stuff. I did a wee detour to the tip with it all and then meandered my way down the peninsula. Because I arrived a little early I went into town to buy some 'soor plums' for the mechanics. The service and work on a recall took one and a half hours so I spent the time in the garage's very lovely customer lounge area, comfortable seats and unlimited hot drinks. On the way home I succumbed to the lure of a sneaky Chinese takeaway. 😋 A little lapse in my self control which I both regret and thoroughly enjoyed! Today my will power is back in place. 😀
I'm still in bed, drinking coffee and listening to Sounds of the 60s. Just now it's Englbert Humperdinck singing 'Am I that easy to forget?' How can I remember all the words? No plans for the day, only vague ideas. I hope that all our poorlies are doing better. Happy Saturday to all.13 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.Weather seems to be fairly ok as far as I can tell.So January is nearly out,the weeks are flying by as usual.I don't know what's happening today, nothing is planned. We thought we might go out this weekend for a visit to the seaside, I know it'll be cold but we can wrap up. Bracing is the word I think, we'll be well and truly braced by the time we get home. We'll check the forecast, doesn't matter if we go today or tomorrow.I need a bit of shopping at some point, I'll fit that in somewhere.Dgs came yesterday afternoon, he took cakes home as usual, this time the icing was a brilliant red, heavily encrusted with sugar flowers and hundreds and thousands.I hope everyone is all right, Thinking of our poorly people. Nelski, hope your hands ease up soon, also Topsy's son after his accident. I know there are others, thoughts to you all.Take care folks.13

Morning folks and thanks GERS. All sounds calm and still out there but too dark to see what weather we are having this morning. Though we have had a few days without frost so long may that continue! (Mary Hopkin currently serenading me GERS!)
Last night's visit to the theatre went down well and if there was chaos backstage you wouldn't know as all went off perfectly on stage! Of course I thought my DGDs were stars! They are back on stage again tonight and for the coming week. They both love performing.
Fluid plans again here, what gets done gets done and what doesn't doesn't.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) galore as usual for all our poorlies, recovering or fed up. Take care all and stay safe xx

Morning All
Still dark out but it's been raining overnight. So much for not scraping the car yesterday, it was worse than the previous few days!
I've woken up with a stinking cold, going back to bed in a while although I did sleep quite well last night. At least the cough has subsided. I've nothing planned today so will just plod about the house, shopping can wait until tomorrow.
Glad you enjoyed your theatre visit TA, well done to your DGDs.
Sounds like good service from your garage Gers.
I love the seaside Scarlet, even if it is a bit bracing.
Washing to go on later once I've had a shower, the new battery in the vacuum seems to be working well, had a happy time going over all the floors!
Have a good weekend, hugs to those not feeling too good or with worries. Take care. XX11 -
Morning all. Haven't opened the blinds yet but according to the weather forecast it's going to be dry if a bit chilly. Lemon muffims are on the menu today. Must strip the bed later and have a wrestling match with the duvet cover after the bed has aired. Apart from that not alot going on today. I've quite a few eggs to use up so think we'll have sausages, scrambled eggs, chips and beans tonight for dinner. A football match hiding on ITV4 will keep me amused later tonight. Hope everyone has a good day and my thoughts are with all the poorlies.

Hi everyone,
Having a slow start today after yesterday's scramble. We all seem to be coming down with colds, probably from Esben's plague pit aka nursery. We had a lovely Indian takeaway last night, we don't have them often, partly because we go to a place that is about 20 minutes away, it's near a fairly well known spa and has pictures of famous people who escaped for a sneaky meal.
Don't know what we will have today but I shall be experimenting with the sourdough starter I got yesterday, we seem to go through so much bread and Laura misses the lovely sourdoughs she used to get in London (for a price) so I thought I'd give it a try, only 3 years later than most people who did it in lockdown.
Have a good day.10 -

Morning all
Dry but overcast here and not as cold as it has been, I have not lit the fire this morning as it needs emptying which OH will do when he gets back from the boot sale.
Housework to do this morning but all three of us join in so it doesn’t take long, I have put a wash on so that can go on the airer.
DD is off out tonight so I have got OH and I steak as a treat OH will cook tonight I got some oven chips for a change and he will do stuffed mushrooms and roasted tomatoes with it.
We had a nice day with mum yesterday not too sad but we talked about my brother a lot and laughed at some of the things he got up to, he had the most wicked sense of humour !
The lovely Nels bought me a Greek cook book for Christmas and last week I made some fava dip which we became addicted to while in Greece, it was delicious and all went quickly so I may make some more today, it goes with all types of things and so very tasty !
Have good days all and take care xxx11 -
Morning. On the first cup of tea. I don't know what it is but I only have a half a teaspoon of sugar in my first two cups of tea, the rest of the day, no sugar. we're out today for lunch with friend from Germany and other friends. It's a pub but the food is not your usual pub fare standard, it's several notches above. But the prices are not stupid. I have one bag of spent grains left to put in the compost bin but I need to cut up the shredded paper, it's shredded in strips not bits. And I need much more. On the plus side I've finally learned how to thread a ratchet strap, I needed one to keep the front on the compost bin. I think I'm ramping up to start doing the garden, it's getting on my nerves again and I have various jobs to do that will be more pleasant when it's not raining. I must get some compost and then of course, garden centers sell plants don't they? And I've ben good on the inside of the house, so maybe I can be bad on the outside...and then there's the jobs in the RoD to do too, but I succesfully foisted some stuff onto my friends so it can clutter their houses upsnoozer, tell me how it went, I've fancied having a go but never tried it yet. Ruby, housework? Stop it. Ah...that's cos she's lovely and thoughtful innit... Izzy, well done for the proverbial kick. Next door tells me he's not feeling well..been to the doctor? No, they might find something wrong....doh! TA, glad you had fun. Scarlet, you make walking in the freezinf stinging wind sound like fun too!
Right, away for more tea, take care all, be sensible!
