Did a short (free) course with local adult education last year, and I'll be doing the plastering myself on the next job..

Where did you find the courses? I've looked myself and struggled to find anything suitable. I live near Cambridge too so I shouldn't be short of educational establishments.

I've concluded that I need to find a (cheap if not free) plumbing course that will give me the confidence to replace a kitchen mixer tap that is beyond repair.
My experience with plumbing so far is that the job initially looks OK, but will leak after a month or so. Need some basic skills and confidence!  :D

The course came up when I did a search of local providers & subjects.

I thought there should be some balance.

I made a request from a local company about a new personal garage door.
An appointment for a visit at my convenience was made and kept.
I was told when the quote would be typed up so when I might expect it - next week.

Business if a family one. In the past it was hard to get hold of the father as there was only a landline and no one to answer.
Son and wife have got a small office now and there are also mobile numbers.

    Such a relief.

Next is the gas safe guy. Appointment not for 2 weeks (I'm cold) but he always phones back around half 4 so you know. And there is an appointment.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
