Morning everyone, not a bad day again. Just been tidying the wood store in the living room, as I think we need some more soon.Expect them to have gone up quite a bit.DH brought some kindling back from his wood supplier, it was £10 but they are much bigger than the ones you can get from S-markets for £5.49. I'm not lighting it yet though, there's only me in, and I'll be warm hoovering and mopping the floors!Tea tonight is beef stroganoff from the butchers. Most of the meat collected yesterday is in the freezer, after a reshuffle, you know how it is
apart from some we'll be using tomorrow evening when DB & SIL come.
MuddyW, I'm glad you can still be welcomed now & again at cadets.RR hugs for you all today.Right off to clean the bathroom.Hope all the coughs & sneezes subside soon, take care all xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all. Did some more getting rid of things yesterday and finlly got round to rewaxing and staining the chest of drawers by my side of the bed and puting some handles on it. It was my grans and was painted with a hideous dark stain paint , from the 20's or thirties, so I took off the fancy bits which appeared to have been added later on, and stripped and waxed it but the wood itself was a mix of woods and had dark patches all over. I used an aged wax stain on it and it looks much better now. That meant a contents reshuffle and eviction, so there's a good tump of pants in the rag bag now. Picked up two black bags of shredded paper so I can fill the other hotbin today with the spent grains, which may take a while. Met with some friends last night for a bit, one of them is back from Germany so a catch up was required. We're having lunch on Saturday as well because well, food isn't it?
And meeting firends tonight for coffee. We may Ikea, we may not...

well done on the curtains too, nice bright cheerfulness is always a plus. Coxy, glad your pasta was good but have you never eaten a Starbar? My absolute all time favourite...and difficult to find for me...Gers, yep, it certainly was
safe drive today, fingers crossed for the service. iris, snap on the roadworks, we have four way traffic lights going on on a busy road at the moment, it's a nightmare. TA, oh no, you're not!...going to the panto

Morning all, another one who was woken during the night with several coughing fits and then didn't wake up till late this morning. We had some rain during the night but it's still only 2 degrees, when will it get warmer ? It's also gone back to grey skies, I've had enough of this cold snap now.
Well after the non service from Curry's yesterday, Argos delivered my hoover promptly at 3pm, Yay ! I rang Dad last night and he had his argumentative head on, I'm sad to say I was glad to end that call. I need to dismiss yesterday as a bad day.
Today I was going to play with my hoover but Mr Fix It beat me to it yesterday and had a lovely time hoovering through downstairs, he so loves a gadget 😁 so I'll just get rid of the box, do some dusting and clean the kitchen. He's also in charge of cooking tonight and he's making a curry with some lo turkey from the freezer (which I finally remembered to defrost ) and I'll cook some rice later.
RedRuby many hugs to you and your family for today.
Sorry I have forgotten who said what, my brain is not working properly today.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need or feeling poorly, including their poorly relatives.

Hi everyone,
We were up early and off to Ely to meet Crystal and Nate for a walk and then a lunch in a lovely cafe. Ely is such a lovely city, we'll be back there on Tuesday at the Cathedral for a talk from an author we both like, Elly Griffiths (her main series is set in Norfolk).
Laura has taken Esther for her 8 week check (albeit she is 9 weeks old) and her first vaccinations, I hope they don't upset her too much. Esben went to his first swimming lesson this morning which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Not a scooby what we are going to eat tonight, maybe a takeaway.
Sorry, I'm too tired to recall what everyone has done.
Have a good day.9 -
Good afternoon, MIA yesterday, had blood test in town then on to knit and natter, spent the earlier morning moving stuff for boiler service as had a short notice that he was coming to do annual boiler service. Cheated (again) and bought the most delicious Cottage pie from one of our great butchers, with a variety of steamed veg it was delish, and some LO for OH tonight.
Even earlier out today for manicure appointment, my nails are so dry and flaky, so it is a real treat to see them painted a cheery colour. OH has risked the showers and gone cycling, I am dog sitting a very unhappy pooch who has attachment issues to OH, we may have to seek help from Dogs Trust about it, but quietly dealing with other (improving) things and don't want to overwhelm him with new stuff.
Bright spots of the day were a quick coffee and chat with a friend in her yarn and fabric shop and managing to walk both to and from town (unhappy Achilles Tendon), hoping dog walk later will not prove to be too much.
Sending hugs and spoons to all that are poorly, bereaved or injured and their loved ones.
