Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was scampi and chips for the menfolk. I had fishcakes and salad. Tonight I'm not sure what we'll be having. I'll organise that when food shopping this morning.
I have the normal things to do today.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Not quite as cold this morning, don't think I'll have to scrape the car. Glorious sunshine yesterday, shame I didn't have enough washing to put out.
I bet your DM feels a lot better after her procedure Ruby, that's a lot of fluid.
Lots of running about for you Topsy, hope you can get everything sorted out.
Well done Suffolk Sue!
That's a hard decision Muddy, glad you've got a solution.
Well done on the decorating Scarlet, the stairs are one area I wouldn't even try.
Hope things improve at your work Coxy. Let us know how the pasta recipe went, sounds awful!
Poor service Bella, hope the furniture arrives soon.
The coal arrived yesterday so there was a roaring fire going, felt rotten so just snuggled under the heated throw and watched TV last night. Feeling a bit better this morning but still coughing for Britain. Cancelled my hair appointment, will go next week. The hairdresser has a young son so didn't want to pass on a sore throat.
The battery arrived for the vacuum yesterday, a bit fiddly to replace but it's been charged up and I'll give it an outing later.
Payday at last, must be January 97th by now, it seems never ending!
Happy Friday, take care. XX

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, enjoy your days off.I don't think it's frosty, doesn't seem that cold. All my aches and pains seemed to redouble with a vengeance last night, I was glad to take a couple of painkillers and go to bed, but I feel a lot better this morning. We had a nice lunch out yesterday, we'd arranged to meet up with the son of an old friend and his wife. They've come back to live in this country after living in the USA for about 20 years. His parents both passed away a few years ago, but he still has some family and friends here.Anyway we had a nice pub lunch and went back with them to see their house. It was a change to have lunch out, and I didn't have to cook later, just made a few sandwiches. Not a lot going on today, I'll pick dgs up from school and he'll come back for his tea. He usually like to bake, so we'll probably make a few little cakes and he'll ice them in bright orange or some other gaudy colour.Talking about gaudy colours, the curtains I bought for the landing window are certainly vibrant - I'm wondering if they're too much so, especially as we put a deeper than usual colour on the walls. Anyone coming in the front door will need sunglasses..TA, was it yesterday Sparkle was going to the vet? if so I hope she is ok, I know she doesn't like going. Our cats hated it as well.Topsy hope your son is all right, he's got some nasty injuries there.Snoozer hope Laura and the children are all right (and you and Steve) You sound really busy at the moment.Ruby, I'm glad your Mum is more comfortable, that was a lot of fluid she had temoved.Taff and Izzy will be whirlwinds as usual today I expect!I know I've missed people, sorry folks, but I hope everyone has as good a day as they can.Take care folks.14

Morning all. Haven't poked my nose out of the door yet but the weather forecast is saying it's going to be a degree or so warmer today. Hope so. Don't work on Fridays so it's off to do the weekly shop today. Will pop into Aldi to see what bargains they have. Won't buy chicken breasts in there any more as they're very hit and miss. Bought some once and I've had beef that was more tender than they were! Have a good day all and hope the poorlies are feeling better.

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
Great that you can still pop into cadets @Muddy_Walker – that will be a real tonic for you I’m sure and will ease the pressure that volunteering sometimes causes (ask me how I know). Take care x
Well done on the quiz win @SuffolkSue!
The peanut butter chicken pasta was really nice @camelot1001 – I usually only like PB in M&Ms so was very dubious. A fusion of satay, chilli and pasta. Hope you feel better soon x
Hugs to @topsyturphy, you are really going through it atm, I’m so sorry x
WFH today and the Royal Mail are coming to collect SIL’s birthday parcel. She shares a birthday with DS2 and we won’t get to see her before Sunday. Postie is bringing the label too. I’ve asked for 24 hour tracked so hopefully it’ll be delivered tomorrow. Investigated this after @Gers used the service I think?
We are out for a takeaway curry at friends tonight which is bad timing considering it’s FC tomorrow morning. I will be driving. One couple are part of the group that snubbed us last year so will be an interesting conversation. Another reason for driving in case we need to leave early.
Have a good day all

Morning folks. We're back to minus temperatures again. Yesterday was a bright, sunny and mild day. Driving up to Oban was glorious, all the lochs were mirror-like in their stillness. After the horrible weather on Wednesday it was a joy to be out. I didn't want much but really enjoyed the drive and being with my friends. Coming back to a clean home was a bonus, not that it was dirty!I managed to sort out my direct debits, set up a new one and move a couple around so that's a relief and only took a few minutes. This morning I'll have my three-way from Australia and then I'm heading down the peninsula to Campbeltown for my cars first service. Normally I take my cars to a garage near Glasgow as I've been using them for years, this time I'm going to the dealership, think it's best for the first service. If today is anywhere as lovely as yesterday it'll be a fine drive.
Snoozer - I'll look on iPlayer for that programme, thanks. Think it may have been Tarbert rather than Tarbet but both are worth seeing.Iris - how was your meet up with girlfriends?
Coxy - what a rubbish time in your office, I hope that it settles down soon.Bella - did your furniture turn up? You may be knee deep in packaging still.DP1 - did a cold materialise? I've been on the verge of one for about a week.TA - I'm imaging a tussle with Sparkle yesterday, hope you're unscathed.Ruby - what a relief for your DM, it's different to understand that so much fluid has built up, she must have been so uncomfortable
Rosy - Campbeltown is so lovely, just a long away away!
Carolbee - another one doing decorating, hope it's finished soon.Taff - was that you taking things easy??
Nan - good on for not buying from Curry's.Muddy - what a lovely outcome for you at cadets, people can be very kind when given the chance.SuffolkSue - the whole box?? 😀
Topsy - another tough day, so sorry that it's all being so difficult for you. I hope you can get a bit of a rest today.Dawn is breaking so I may have to get myself going. Hugs and healing thoughts all round. Happy Friday to all.12 -
Morning all, glorious sunrise down here.
Freezer clear out has provided a lot of chicken , so I’ll make us a warming chicken casserole for dinner tonight.
Need to get a new swimsuit today, I feel mine has become somewhat transparent!
bedroom carpet being fitted on Tuesday, might get some new bedding to finish the room off.
have a good day, keep safe and warmCarolbee11 -
Morning everyone
Just having a quick catch up before work. I spoke to my boss yesterday and I'm only going to work afternoons for the next few weeks - I'm just so tired just now. Still have to go in for the full day today.
Gers - I've felt like I'm going to get a cold all week now but haven't yet, I've got an awful cough though.
Little one will come for tea and a sleepover tonight - no bother as she's always asleep by 6 when she's been at nursery all day. We're going to our local theatre on Sunday to see Cinderella - looking forward to it.
My hoover kept stopping and starting yesterday - I'm hoping it lasts a bit longer - I looked on Amazon last night and they seem a lot more expensive than when I bought that one.
I have more exciting things I need to save for - holidays!
Well better go. Hope everyone has a good day x12 -
Morning everyone and thanks for starting us off nmlc.
It looks like being a nice day weatherwise.
Thank you Gers for asking about yesterday's meet up with friends - we had a lovely chat.
Today I am going out with a friend for lunch. We have a lot of road-works atm, hopefully I won't need a detour to get to her house.
Hope you all have a great Friday. x11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. No weather to speak of out there, it's just miserable looking.
I'm a latecomer this morning as I have been doing computer stuff. Amongst other stuff my monthly fuel statement was to download - eek! I'm so glad I managed to accumulate a big credit balance as I have been eating into that since the fuel prices shot up.
Usual Friday Tidy today then a treat tonight. I am going to the opening night of the panto the girls are performing in (oh yes I am!!) According to middle DGD the dress rehearsal was chaotic so we are hoping tonight is better. It's Cinderella for me too DP1. It's a smaller theatre than the Alhambra they have appeared in previously but they are now too tall to be Sunbeams any more. Such a shame as it's a beautiful old theatre.
It seems as though the horrible cough is still doing the rounds on here. I can sympathise as I seem to have spent the whole of January coughing. I still have the occasional coughing fit but far better than it was. Hope CAMELOT and DP1 are soon rid of it.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, recovering or fed up. MUDDY that was a lovely outcome for you. Take care all and be safe xx
