Am I the only one who has not had any notification of a price increase yet, or are others in the same situation if they are staggering the increases? Do they notify via email or post or both (we get our bills via email)?
I'm contracted on an 18 month new customer welcome discount until July at £24/month, so does this mean I'm exempt from these price increases until then?
We can't afford a £7/month increase so if we do get the notification unless they postpone or cancel it we will be leaving before it takes effect.

I think new customers on their first contract did not get this letter...my partner is a new VM customer at a different address and didn't get a price increase letter, where as I am in my second contract and had the letter... This might explain why.

We haven't heard anything either so I'm presuming it doesn't apply to us.   New contract was agreed late last year so hopefully we miss this increase and can then negotiate again next year which will be near the end of contract anyway.  Will keep an eye on the bills and be ready to complain

  • Here's a thing. My contract runs out soon and I don't want to renew it, so I thought it would be a good idea to confirm this with Virgin a week or so before hand (because of all the hassle stories I had heard about). They told me that I will have to pay a cancellation charge. I pointed out the fact that I am not cancelling my contract, just not renewing it - apparently that doesn't matter and I should have told them I would not be renewing 30 days prior to my contract ending. What a great way to operate. Anyone else come across this ?

Contracts continue until you cancel them.
So in Virgin's case you need to give them 30 days notice, and if that occurs after your minimum end date, the problem solves itself.
