Fuzzgun, did you have it near the top of the microwave? I find sometimes that if I use the rack on the taller setting (i.e. to fit other bits underneath it), 'sensitive' foods will burn on top, e.g. yorkshire puds.

I've had just a combi microwave for a while now, and find it much easier to have pre-made a batch of yorkshire puds (I often pop to my nan's to make a big batch in her oven, as I can only fit a small silicone muffin tray in my microwave) and just chuck a couple in to warm through.
  • I think you might get better results if you do use the rack, to enable the heat to circulate underneath the pudding. Perhaps a metal baking tray would help the bottom to colour more than a pyrex dish?

Hi krlyr, no I had it on the bottom of the oven at the lowest point, I even took out the glass plate, and balanced the pyrex dish on the thingy that goes round in the middle, so it couldn't get any lower.

I think I'll just have to stick to the conventional oven for yorkshires!
