Our house has no TV coverage, we're in London in the lee of a raised railway between 2 hills and 3 transmitters and we just cannot get a signal, nor can our local Richer sounds store!
We have, therefore, been with Sky for years as Virgin hadn't been available to our house. It now is but still not sure it's worth it.
DH and I mainly watch terrestrial TV (live and catch up), kids watch you tube/prime or netflix but we do sometimes watch sport (premier league football).
What is important to me though is I want an EPG - else I'd just use my Roku/Firestick. Happy to continue using the Firestick for connection to Netflix etc (have an HDMI switcher to manage them all, with games consoles too)
The Manhattan has good reviews on Which but I think needs an aerial connection, we can't use Freesat as our satellite connection is dodgy anyway and needs sorting and I don't want to have to pay, so can anyone recommend a good set top box that doesn't need an aerial?
Or would taking the basic Virgin package be best and just adding bits in if needed?

The epg on the T3 is from Freeview Play which is downloaded via the aerial connection. If you want to use the catchup feature it automatically switches to the appropriate app such as BBC iplayer or ITV X.
Under the circumstances you are better off using your Roku stick.
Additionally, due to the chip shortage, Manhattan halted production of the T3 some time ago and are concentrating on the hard drive T3-r model so you may have problems buying one.1 -
I would get the satellite sorted if you're in a house.
