How to return or repay an eBay refund when a refunded item turns up.

I ordered a Blu Ray on eBay for £10 on 8th January with an expected delivery of Thu 12 Jan - Mon 16 Jan. It wasn't urgent so I waited until a few days past 16th January before I contacted the seller via messages. I didn't raise a formal claim for non delivery. He was apologetic and said that he would check with Evri. The next day he told me that Evri had lost the package so he refunded me in full.
A week later and this morning I received a delivery email from Evri followed soon afterwards by the delivery of the Blu Ray disk.
I contacted the seller:
Hello XXX, some good news. The disk has just been delivered today. I therefore need to pay you £10. How do you want me to do that? If you let me know your bank sort code and account number and account name I can use that. It is safe as that is no more information than is on any cheque that you write. If you prefer an alternative method let me know. Thanks.
He replied:
Wow thanks XXXX, your honesty is greatly appreciated. Regarding payment, eBay are quite touchy about transactions that bypass their system (it means they don’t get their 10%), so here’s my suggested solution: I’ll relist the disk at a ridiculous price and send you the item number. Then you can search on that number, make an offer of 9.99 and I’ll accept it straight away. I hope that will suit you, and thanks once again for getting in touch.
Perhaps he is nervous about providing me his bank details but his method suggests to me that he will pay extra eBay fees on the relisted item.
Any suggestions of a better solution.
Thanks
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

Yes he's paying extra in fee's but if that's how he wishes to do it, it shouldn't make any difference on your part.....
Personally if I were the seller I would have just taken the bank transfer.....1 -
He'll pay fees on the transaction but it's probably the right way to do it. Sending bank details or contact details on Ebay messenger can get you struck off. He should have gotten his original fees back when he refunded for a lost item - I believe.1

He wanted to relist it at a high price and accept my offer of £10 so that is what we have done. He knew he would pay extra fees to eBay but preferred that to a bank transfer or other method that might have upset eBay. Fair enough and anyway we are only talking a little more than £1.
He refunded me without a claim so I don't know if he received his original fees back.
