Depositing Cash In Post Office

Hi guys
Just a little word of warning if you want to deposit cash
in your bank account via the Post Office.
My BIL wanted me to buy something from E-Bay for him last week.
As I did not have enough money in my account to do so I gave him
my bank details to pay the money in at the PO on 10/12 - he duly deposited
the £103 and it still has not been credited to my account - I was told
it could take 3 working days for a manual deposit to be credited.
Just thought I would let you know incase anyone else plans to deposit
cash with pay-in slip or card being present

You don't say what bank you use but we have never had any problem paying into Alliance & Leicester accounts via the Post Office.
My wife and I regularly deposit cash into our Alliance & Leicester accounts ie. Easysaver A/C, Basic Cash A/C and also Current A/C all using the cards and getting the printed receipts the post office give you after each banking transaction and the funds are cleared by the time we check it online which is when we walk back home from the small sub post office in under 10 minutes.0 -
Sorry to hear that i hope your money turns up0

I deposit money via the post office using my bank card NOT a paying in slip. Using a paying in slip means it has to be manually processed but if you use your card and get a receipt it goes in straight away0

We bank with the Clydesdale Bank (Yorkshire Bank) and I have never had the
problem before (I always use my card) - on this occassion my impatient BIL paid it in without my card 9 days later it still hasn't appeared in my account and I have an irate BIL threatening to get the Police - trying to explain to him banking procedures etc is like banging your head on a brick wall

is it possible he got one of the numbers for your account wrong?
or 2 of them the wrong way round....
I would have thought the 5 working days long enough for manual cash deposits.......
tell him you are investigating, and ask him to confirm from the receipt he would have been given at the time of paying in, what account he paid it intosmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

I raised a complaint last Friday got complaint number from RM - everything on the receipt tied up.
Just got a call from the bank and they have now located the cash and money should be in account by COB Monday (she did say probably tomorrow but to be on the safe side Monday)
