PIP Telephone Assessment

Asking for a friend, they aren't very used to computers and I can't answer their question.
So my friend has applied for PIP, she sent off all the paperwork that was asked apart from some she couldn't get before the pip deadline. She has heard back from PIP saying she needs a telephone consultation. She's a bit panicky on the phone and is a bit of a worrier. My question is are telephone consultations quite common? I don't think it helps that its being done by independent assessments which underneath says bought to you by ATOS which she had terrible problems with previously.

Most PIP consultations are by telephone now. I think the figure is around 77%. But if your friend is worried, she is entitled to have somebody with her to help her through the process. Just tell the assessor and put it on speakerphone0

One very important thing to do is, have 2 phones.
one for call, one to record the call.
First on speaker and second on record.
It’s amazing how they twist the facts later.
I have 10 plus calls recorded from job centre, pip and esa.
Makes correcting to facts easy.
I sent an exact transcript of the call and it’s was amazing how quickly the changed their decision.
Just me, don’t trust anyone.
