Legal Aid

Sorry if in the wrong section.
Legal Aid despite me being in reciept of benefits, was refused for me due to the value of my property. (The property isnt for sale) I am flat out broke so I find it quite a shock that ive had a drastic change in circumstances since buying the property, yet the property im sat in determines wether I can access desperately needed legal aid.
Anyone have any experience of this?

Do you satisfy the Legal Aid requirements?
Legal aid: Eligibility - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Have you put your details into the checker?
IIRC, there was a big tightening up on who/what qualifies for Legal Aid a while ago.

Always helpful to know who you are ringing.
OP
Did you apply through a solicitor?
If so, what have they said about the refusal?
Have they considered going through the appeals process?1 -
Check your house insurance provider (look in your documents).
You may be covered to have a solicitor work for you through your house insurance.0 -
What is the legal aid for?
Just asking because I am working with someone who gets legal aid, but a relative who wishes to be joined to the case is having difficulty because the LAA are arguing that they don't need to be funded to be a party. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Have you checked here
