The scheme is totally different this year. There is no requirement to apply for the broader scheme (I assume you're in England) as they check for eligibility. Qualification now includes an assessment of your property to see if it would be inefficient to heat based on things like property type, size, age. Many who previously would have got the WHD now will not qualify.

There are many threads already in this section on the new WHD scheme so probably answers can be found and links with quick search.

Yes i've read those threads and now see there is new criteria for England..I was unaware so have tried to contact EDF and its a nightmare..they still are estimating my gas usage despite sending sending a man from Morrison Data company in October who read the meter and gave me the card reading and they still haven't acknowledged this reading as of today's date ...so thought maybe i might find someone more resourceful on this site.

I've been with EDF since August (when they claimed they were my supplier of both gas and electric which turned out false)... they haven't a clue what they're doing.... I've paid no direct debits... they owe me hundreds according to my balance... the only statement they've provided says they owe me for my electric and gas used.... and they screwed up the switch of my gas to them (first accusing me of imagining that I'd instructed a switch despite them sending me a letter confirming the instruction) so paid out for that too.... and failed to use my meter reading.

Frankly.... no communication from them is an upgrade on standard service...laugh. They do seem particularly slow at the moment... in all domains... and the chat assistant has left me with 2 broken legs on my keyboard after I lost my temper.

Hopefully eventually they use your reading for gas.

In terms of the WHD links have been provided to the data table which gives property types, size and age and probably from that you'll be able to know if there's much chance of your home meeting criteria.... but by now I think most are getting letters to say they qualify.

You can check to see if you're entitled here. https://www.gov.uk/check-if-youre-eligible-for-warm-home-discount if you are then you will be contacted.
The new rules this year also look at the age and size of your home, as well as claiming means tested benefits.
