Money paid by landlord to their solicitor.Money paid to your solicitor client account. Funds released on confirmationyou have exited property. To be fair you could use 1 solicitor firm unconnected to you and landlord to save fees.May you find your sister soon Helli.

I'll be happy to act as the intermediary if you like: for a very reasonable 10% of the compo.
If you agree, message me and I'll send you the bank details.
No free lunch, and no free laptop

Hi OP
Good luck but I just want to say to anyone that is a LL or wana be LL. It's complex, hire a good, well established LA on full management. If things go wrong and you have sensibly taken out legal cover etc, trust me just saving on the worry is worth a million.
OP, make sure you get it done properly as they offered, you did not ask so you deserve it.
Thanks1 -
You can get your own solicitor. I guess it would cost you several £100. There’s no reason to suppose the LL will pay that on top of the £10k, but maybe.Alternatively, you can rely on a formal undertaking from the LL's solicitor to pay you.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

What a windfall when it is inevitable that the landlord will evict you in due course. He must want that flat to be vacant in a real hurry.
I suggest that you have a solicitor of your own and get him to send your acceptance reply quickly----and then make the £10,000 transfer from solicitor to solicitor on a date to be agreed in writing between them.
As for solicitor costs, I wouldn't risk such a deal going through by asking for landlord to pay your costs ( which will be minimal ).
I LIKE IT----CONGRATULATIONS BERTIE.

You have considerable faith in your agent, but it still remains your responsibility if they do make a mistake. Anyone can set themselves up as an agent - no training or qualification is required. Many people on this forum prefer to educate themselves as much as possible, self manage and avoid paying out a large percentage of their profit to an agent.diystarter7 said:Hi OP

Not a bad offer.
Been very unlucky with the s21's0 -
let's just say the agent is the one that's caused A LOT of the problems.
Anyway, good news £10k hit my account yesterday, the £775 has been processed waiting on that hitting my account & they wrote off £650 "arrears" (they increased my rent during this debacle and I just kept paying the original £775 pcm).
So thanks all for the help.13 -
Good result for you, will you be able to find a similar or cheaper rental?bertie1979 said:let's just say the agent is the one that's caused A LOT of the problems.
