Tried this on Nat West yesterday and said I'm already customer and to login. Tried chat and after being passed round the houses I was told their was a fault in the system and try today. Have done and still same message. Anybody else?

Just tried again and went on to chat and once passed the digital assistant finally got through to a human and same answer... try again tomorrow as system error!
  • there are equally as good deals out there, I also bank with Natwest and found Sinsbury's, Tesco and Barclaycard have similarly good deals
  • I have also tried to apply for one of the recommended NatWest balance transfer cards, without success.
The problem is that I have a profile on their system, but without any stored account numbers.
When applying for the card, I can't be considered a new customer because I was a customer (with NatWest or RBS), a long time ago, even though the last account I had with either of those banks is now defunct.
The registration form identifies me as a customer, but I cannot proceed without an account or card number - neither of which exist.
I have reported this, and was told that they knew about the problem, I also asked to be informed when it was fixed, and gave them my email - but I would not be surprised if I do not hear anything. The obvious fix is to delete all profiles without any account or card numbers, or they could accept a card applicant without account numbers as a new customer. The support person I chatted with was unable to delete my profile.
The 24 month no fee BT is very attractive, so I hope they fix this before I have to arrange my next BT.
