Santander Edge Saver

Just in the process of opening an Edge/Edge Saver account (previously had 123 Lite) and obviously going to put any savings into the higher 3.5/4% Edge Saver.
As I was on a yearly interest rate - opened the esaver Oct 2022 - should I get any interest due immediately?
Or will it be the case that unless I close the 'original' saver that it will be paid into there on the 12 month anniversary?
I'm near a branch tomorrow but dare I say it I don't have a huge amount of faith in the cashiers 😒

If you close the esaver, they'll credit the accrued interest immediately.
You should be able to request closure via the Chat. They action the request usually within 24 hours.
Hope you made the right decision ditching your Lite account for the Edge one, as it's financially not a good move for many Lite owners, and it's a one-way move as you can never get your Lite back.1 -

I have contacted their chat service and they've told me to keep the 'old' saver open, that is supposedly the best way.
I have my doubts though, as you've said if I close the account surely they have to pay the interest.0
