group saver accounts

my wife is one of three sisters who have a joint current account with Barclays. Just tried to set up a joint saver account with them and find they have a rule that a maximum of two holders are allowed. Also very difficult to set up an account without physically visiting a branch. Why?

    Essentially it is intended to make things more difficult for money launderers. Don't expect things to get any easier in this respect in future - because they won't.
