Historic rent charge - Ways to solve quickly???

@Land_Registry
If I were to privately get a Deed of Release to show that the rent charge has now been paid off, would you accept that as enough to change the title deed?
Typically you ask for a redemption certificate but I have been told a Deed of Release may work instead as the waiting times are too long with Redemption Certificates?

sidthecat96 how did it go if you don't mind me asking? We are in the same position now with HSBC and historic rentcharge0

HSBC would have accepted an indemnity policy for our rent charge but turned out it was bought out in ths 90’s. We were able to expedite the land registry process so it didn’t really slow up the sell1

This came up during the recent sale of my late mother's house.The buyer wanted indemnity insurance which my conveyancer would have provided. After having another look through my mother's property documents, I found a letter confirming she had actually purchased the rent charge back in the 90s for around 50 quid. Scanned and emailed the letter to the conveyancer and the buyer and mortgage company were happy and the sale went ahead.2
