Morning everyone
Thanks for all the tips re my bolognaise sauce - I'll add beef stock cubes to my Tesco order. It was ok just not enough flavour. Meat is just so expensive just now I'm trying not to buy much.
Busy day at work yesterday and I fell asleep on the sofa at 3.30 - I'm so sick of this long covid malarky now - it's ridiculous that I'm so tired after a day at work. Never mind, theres a lot of people worse off than me - moan over!
Not at work till lunchtime today so I want to get the bathroom cleaned and the towels washed and out on the line. Little one has gone to nursery this morning so I'll have to get my bike out of the shed and charge it up to go down - it's a while since I've used it as I've just been getting lifts down with DD.
Right I'm going to get on - hope everyone has a good day today x14 -
Morning all
There is no frost here today but still bitterly cold, OH has lit the fire before work so it’s all warm and cosy here.
DD has taken my mum into hospital today to have some fluid drained from her tummy it’s been there since she had her fall a year or so back so I’m hoping this will make her feel more comfortable.
I have put a wash on this morning and it can be hung on the airer by the fire that washing dries overnight and saves us putting the TD on.
We are trying to do a Chinese meal tonight I’ve got some chicken out to make chicken balls and we will do egg fried rice mushroom chow mein and some pancake rolls ( which we bought ) hopefully it will taste nice !
DP1 I always put loads of garlic in my spag bol and onions and a load of oregano, and a jar of pasatta and a bay leaf, and I find it’s better if you make it in the morning and let it sit, I also put a handful of olives in when re-heating which add a lot of flavour.
Nels is doing ok but her poor hands are still playing up.
have good days all and take care xx13 -
Morning all, we still have frost here but the sun is out again. After my relaxing day I'm raring to go, not. I have put a wash on though and I'll chance hanging it out in the sun as there's a bit of a breeze too. I'm hoping it will dry a bit before it gets hung on the airer upstairs.
The spare bedroom needs putting back to normal too, the folding bed has to be put away and the bedding stowed till next time, when it will be DGD's turn as she doesn't like to be left out ! I would like to start sorting the office as it's full of bags of stuff from the desk we dismantled but I'm not sure I will get around to it today.
There is still some meat from the Sunday roast to use up, so we'll probably have that with chips and I'll have peas too.
Gers I hope you get satisfaction with the machine.
MuddyW I hope you get a better day today.
Scarlet whoo hoo! painting finished. What's next ? I'm already eyeing up some more painting, I must be nuts 😂
TA the coughing seems more draining than the cold. Take care lovely.
Snoozer good luck to Steve today.
Hope everyone has a good day, especially if you're at work and covering for others on the sick.
Take care all, stay safe and warm, hugs to the poorly ones.

Morning all...Frosty, sunny, but no rain! woop! Not that there has been the past week but it's still nice not to have it for the now. Today more of decluttering, The pile on the table is getting bigger [the table is going too] and I've only done the downstairs so far. Kitchen cupboards for bowl and plates this morning. Then upstairs...Not looking forward to that. And the fire is on again, managed to keep it in last night so a load of washing is on the cards. I made kedgeree yesterday [my version] so that's breakfast sorted. I'm going to have to sell the fire surround I got. It didn't occur to me until last night that it could burn if one of the embers fell against it..Doh! Needs a rethink. But at least I realised before it happened..And I do have several magazines to read so I can put them in the recycling for tomorrow [ they're freebies for having something ] Right, part 49 [or 149 or however much it is] of operation chuck it away commences! Again!TA, hope the cough tapers of some more, so annoying and painful on the rib muscles.. camelot, hope you get your battery, messy floors are dispiriting. Scarlet, enjoy the quiz! snoozer, poor steve. I am a nightmare if I can't see properly, that sounds like it's enough to make you sick every day...dp1, maybe have a look at Pasta Grannies on youtube. There are quite a few recipes that don't have meat in them, just fast forward through the pasta making bits , although they're all quite short videos but have some fab recipes. And what Coxy said doubled, leave it a day and it will taste better. Ruby, hope your mum gets some relief..Nanny, feet up and heal a bit more maybe? Nels, hope your mum is doing well, and hope the weather warms soon. Take care all, another wear a blanket day..Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Top of the morning to you all
Thanks nmlc- hope your day is ok.
A balmy 2deg here,& very grey. We didn't have to pick DGS up yesterday as stuff ordered for DH/DS job wasn't ready. There wasn't much they could do, so DS2 had the pleasure of the roadworks on the way to school & DGS the pleasure of his DDad picking him upI've got a pot of soup on the go in my larger IPot, got some turkey bones out of the freezer & a pack of what my DMum used to call 'pot herbs' that came with my veg box. We'll probably have the soup for tea as we're off to the match tonight, so need something quick, we pick up DS2 & DGD on the way to the stadium to save on taking 2 vehicles. DGS wanted to come but his DMum thinks it's too late a finish, she's right, we tried one in the school hols and he fell asleepbless him.
DDog is hiding under the table as I type- the bin men are on their way & she's scared of the noisy bottle& cans one- well that's not completely true, she hates them all !I've ordered a meat pack from the butchers, not had one for ages so need a freezer juggle.Dp1 sorry you are still experiencing such fatigue. Nels hope your hands improve, it's the one area that pains me sometimes, mainly typing and doing stuff like crochet.Right need to do a T order, and some admin for DH, look after yourselves x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Misson accomplished! Glasgow and back by 2.00p.m. The JL assistant was very helpful though a tad confused at first but she set up the new machine on the floor and we watched it chug away and work.
It's a replacement coffee machine for upstairs as my old faithful packed in the other week. I wanted the red one though it seems that JL have had a faulty batch, so I've got a working cream one. Anything but black. I didn't go anywhere else so feel good about that.
Seems that drizzle doesn't show up in forecasts as rain - I didn't have to go anywhere outdoors apart from my front door to the car and back so it didn't matter too much, just made driving slower in the dark, dazzling wet car lights are horrible.Rosy - enjoy the game, your soup should help keep you warm out there.10 -
