Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark and very frosty start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was smoked sausage pasta with breaded chicken portions (menfolk had these I had just pasta).Tonight hairdresser is coming so not sure what we'll be having.
Work was busy yesterday because we now have colleagues using up holiday but now several gone sick - so nowhere near enough staff - we'll see how today goes - another busy one for me I guess.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for starting nmlc, sounds like it'll be a busy day for you.
Safe journey Gers, hope you get the machine sorted out.
One part time colleague off for the week and the other won't be in today as her daughter is ill, it'll be a busy day for me too. We have new radios to use at work now, wondering how long it will be before someone says something inappropriate!
Washing up to date but may need to unearth the iron at some point. Looking forward (sad, I know) to the new battery being delivered for the vacuum, I can only do a little bit at a time!
Great to see so many new names on here, hope you can stay around.
Hugs to the poorlies, take care. XX12 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's damp, but no frost, though there was no frost yesterday and it was still a cold raw day.I was out for an hour yesterday to hand a book over to someone from the book club, had a coffee and natter, then back home.We are doing pretty well with the staircase, we'll finish today. Dh was reminiscing yesterday about how we used to do it in 2 days, but we were several decades younger then. Even he was saying the next time it needs doing (if we haven't popped off by then) we'll pay someone else to do it.It'll be same old same old today, except we'll go to the quiz tonight.Hope your trip to Glasgow goes all right Gers.Thinking of our poorly people today, sorry to hear your cough has returned TA, exhausting isn't it when you can't stop coughing.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can - take care folks.13

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Wow no adverse weather today - no wind, no rain, no frost, no snow and probably no sun! And it feels milder too.
It's Tuesday but no BFF meet up thanks to my lurgy. After last year's chemo she is trying to be ultra careful about coming into contact with bugs. My cough seems to be easing at last, dare I say it! I hope there is no phase 3 waiting in the wings.
I still need to go in town though as there are odd bits I need, the most pressing being a birthday present for Thursday. Last minute as usual! It will probably end up just a gift card for somewhere. And I need to get some eggs. I was cursing Ocado for leaving them out of my delivery - until I checked and I hadn't added them to my order in the first place!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, recovering or plain fed up. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning everyone and thanks NMLC for starting the thread.
No specific plans for today, but I'll probably have a walk to the village Post Office.11 -
Just looked outside and it's very frosty here.9

Morning all. Still really cold and frosty here. We've lit the fire the last couple of days but it needs cleaning and re-laying now.
DH was out lunching with a friend yesterday so I succombed to a Subway for lunch. This meant that I was then too full to eat my planned dinner and ended up nibbling on unsuitable things! Will try to do better today but one of us has to wait in for a parcel to be collected and it could be any time up until 8pm.
I'm off to Zumba for 10am so will pick up a few bits of shopping in town.
Have a good day everyone. Hope Jackie O is enjoying being home and has plenty of ginger nuts13 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @nmlc x
No post from me yesterday as I was in the London office. Very busy day. I was meant to go in today too and have a delayed Christmas lunch but DH told me on Friday that he has to go to Birmingham today for an in-person meeting. I am having to stay home to dog-sit DS1s pup as he is still in Vietnam.
I will make some soup today – it’s a SW recipe with the addition of pickled onions. Sounds interesting…..! Dinner is pesto and kale pasta, another new recipe.
Safe travels to Glasgow @Gers, I hope you get the machine sorted.
Glad you DS is doing okay @topsyturphy x
You can have some banter and a moan to us @Chrisca50 – we are all ears!
Hope your cough eases today @TravellingAbuela – so frustrating, and be careful out there x
Hope you survived the freezer pot luck @carolbee
Do you work in my office @Muddy_Walker lol
Dp1 – you can add red wine stock cubes to bolognaise – rather than opening a bottle of wine for just the bolognaise (wink wink…..)
Go steady when you’re out @iris – frosty here also and we live on a hill – the perfect combo for injury!
Good to hear that @London_1 (aka JackieO) is home but annoying that she has to wait for her op. Hope she’s tucked up warm and doing okay.
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Hi everyone,
Very frosty here as well iris. I've got to go to Luton with Steve to the hospital to have his eyes looked at, we've only been there once before when I had to go for a follow up mammogram after they found some pre-cancerous cells. I hope they can do something about Steve's eyes, he has permanent double vision after his chemo.
Yesterday was very full on. Laura was very tired when she woke so I took Esben to his morning music class while she had a lie in. Then we has both Esther and Esben in the afternoon while Laura went to an exercise class and then did a work interview for a keeping in touch day and Brian did some work as well, I also made Somerset bean stew with cheesy mash for dinner. I was pretty tired after all that.
I'll take it easier today.
Have a good day.12
