UC & Starting Work

Hi folks

I started work this week and my firm pays a month in arrears meaning I've missed the cut off for this month (as pay day is Friday). My first wage wont be until end of February.

I have updated my Status on the online UC site etc, how will me not being paid from my new job until late Feb. affect the UC I receive in the meantime? My UC assessment periods are 9th to 8th of each month and if it helps, I'll be taking home around 1800 a month after deductions.

UC is based on earnings received during your assessment period. If you receive no earnings then you'll be entitled to your usual payment. It will then be the following month that you'll see the deductions from earnings.
