Business prices, time to accept?

My father owns a business and he's been on a contract for a couple of years and now the time he's been dreading has come up, his fix runs out end of March. Started getting calls from Love Energy (they brokered the deal last time) a while ago and was actually scared to talk them with how expensive he was expecting it to be. Eventually spoke to them and it was a lot but manageable, though he didn't fix it at the time. Spoke to them today and it seems to have come down a fair bit since too.

It's with British Gas Lite and the unit price is 34.14, standing charge 40p. He's not agreed to it yet but I was wondering is it worth waiting or is he best off fixing it now?

I'm going to see if there are any better prices now too. Don't suppose anyone has renewed recently and knows of any other prices? Octopus is the only one that lists their prices online and they seem a lot more.

Thanks

Prices seem to move substantially at the moment.
I've just switched from EDF to Octopus, at the time of switch (three weeks ago) Octopus were cheaper than BG Lite and both were considerably less than EDF.

The price you've been offered is even cheaper again. I would take that deal in a heartbeat!

It's around the same for 1, 2 and 3 years

Is it worth asking other brokers? They all just have the same prices don't they and no incentives so not much point?
  • I have no idea. I try to avoid brokers if possible, far too busy to have sales agents calling every five minutes.

    My tariff details
    Octopus Green Business 12M Fixed December 2022 Band1 v2
    Fixed term ends 07/01/2024
    47.79p/kWh
    49.23p/day
    (all rates exclude vat)

Your deal appears better, although I'm happy enough after EDF quoted more than double these prices...

Would you do 1 or 2 year at the prices I've been quoted?
