Was in my local extra store today and they had loads of fresh and frozen turkeys available. Use by date on fresh tureys were 25th dec.

Also check about the latest time to amend basket, as I had an order for friday and I only had a turkey in the basket, I was going to finish order this evening....but after reading this thread went to check, yes turkey was still there....however there was a notice saying any amendments had to be done by 11.59 today.......it was 11.49, meaning I had 10 mins to complete, in the end had to cancel so now lost my slot!!!!!!

:mad: Thank you for pointing this out. Mine is missing too.!!! Better get on to it as I have visitors coming. If it was just me and the kids would use the chicken, but had wanted a turkey crown.

Last night I emailed Tesco asking about my missing turkey, they emailed me back today, telling me that i will get my turkey.If I ordered it.? No mention of why its not showing when I updated my order? I await my delivery tonight between 9 and 11 (Only slot I could get). Now I am nervous.

I didn't get mine but I had already been to Sainsbury after I spoke to CS. Has anyone else had problems with theirs? I had the crown too - maybe it is just those. My delivery driver said I should kick up a stick about it!!

I mentioned on another thread, I have several friends who ordered online with Tesco including a turkey, 2 did not get a Turkey, they were ones who went on to the order and amended it after the Turkey order date, a couple amended it before then and still got the turkey.

From what I can gather from the system Tesco uses online completely reissues the order with the ammendments and just keeps the booked time slot. So therefore if they ammended the order after the Turkey ordering date, it won't have arrived as the whole lot goes through from the date of ammending the order, which would cancel the Turkey order.

Another couple of people I know are waiting for orders tomorrow, 1 has ammended her order once since, the other 2 haven't, will be interesting to see who gets a turkey.

Think of it another way, I wouldn't have been able to place an order on the first, then amend it last week adding a turkey, because the system wouldn't let me....

I have amended my order a few time since ordering the Turkey. It doesn't show on the actual basket page but it does show down the side when I am doing my shopping, like this:



I hope I do actually get one, on the phone they said I would.

Don't hold out your hopes with either Tesco or Sainsburys. The turkey is always an issue for (hopefully) a small number of shoppers with either retailers online/phone ordering service. The supermarkets know in advance that not everybody will get one, and that's before they mess up the deliveries. They employ a fair number of people after Xmas just to apologise for the missing turkeys.

If a turkey is VERY important to you, you need to do yourself a favour and go and get one yourself.

Hi all, just wanted to say dont know about other Tesco stores but in my store we had no problems with the turkeys for home delivery, they dont actuallly arrive in store until the 19th of December, but as soon as they arrive any home orders for them are removed from the order and placed in special fridges just for home deliveries. I know last year we had a couple of turkeys that weren,t available so they were upgraded to a much larger turkeys. Im not sure if its the same this year but I know last year we were paying about £40 to anyone that we couldnt provide a turkey for so had to make sure that we had them in. I actually do the shopping for people that order online (please dont lynch me....lol) and if you do ever have problems with your orders phone and let Tesco know its the only way it can get better. Well I've just had the shopping delivered complete with Turkey.
