Old Premium Bond

Hi,
My husband was given a premium bond over the weekend that my mother in law had. It was bought for him when he was born. How does he go about checking it? He is now 46 so is quite old and all we know is that the family member who bought it purchased it at the post office

NS&I will be able to tell you the holders number from the bond number and if it has won any prizes.

Does he have other bonds ? If so then it should be on their existing bond list. What address was the bond registered at and is that address still a family address ? All correspondence / wins would have gone there.

We don’t know much really. The relative who bought it is now deceased. My MIL doesn’t know if she put it in her name, MIL’s name or my husband’s name 🤷🏻♀️ Apparently it was just something she picked up at the post office when he was born. He has never had premium bonds before so no idea. He has rang NS&I who didn’t really help much and told him to go online but because we don’t know the name it was bought in the forms online we can’t seem to complete?0

Search the unclaimed prize list (use a computer find function (Ctrl + F)) for the bond number https://www.nsandi.com/get-to-know-us/winning-bonds-downloads0
