Car after MOT

Few things noticed with my car following a recent MOT and it got me wondering.....

Since they did it theres been a loud banging whenever you go over a boot. To be honest, it sounds like a screwdriver or something bouncing around in the engine compartment. I've looked and can see nothing. I can see, though that someone has removed the grill (near the windscreen wipers) and snapped a few plastic lugs (they are clean not dirty). Hmmmmm......

Also, checking the boot, I know they to check the spare but, it was wasnt screwed back in properly, and they managed to knock the lid off the Ad Blu thing. (that was just loose under the spare wheel). Not a great deal of care taken.

Best way to approach the garage? The knocking is the thing - Im wondering if someone has dropped something, had a quick look and now left it.

The spare wheel/tyre is NOT checked as part of the test.

Also no reason to remove the grill you mention during an MOT test, it's primarily a visual inspection of things.

Other than a torch there isn't normally any tools used for an MOT, as above it's purely inspection but did you actually mean that the car had a service and then an MOT all as one job?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

(Straight from the horse's mouth, as it were, since it's an official government publication)
In particular, Section 2.12 : "Spare wheels and tyres are not inspected."
But it's a handy page to bookmark if you're ever curious about what is and isn't tested in an MOT.
