National Grid low usage incentive scheme and EON.Next

People in England, Scotland and Wales who have a smart meter are eligible."
I have not heard anything from my supplier EON.Next and have been checking their website over the last few months. I can confirm that they are one of the 26 suppliers that have signed up to the scheme. I have just spoken to them and they are choosing who can take part and are inviting their customers (depending on area) via an e-mail. Apparently, I am not eligible even though i have a smart meter and live in Wales! Surely this is discriminatory on EON.Next's part? Does anyone have any information or experience of this with EON.Next or other suppliers?

I'm in South London, with a smart and with E.ON, I've not heard anything either.0

You need three things to be invited by eon.next
1. Smart meters installed2. Marketing options turned on in your eon account3. Smart meter 30min reading Intervals turned on in your account.
Once you have enough smart meter 30 min data accumulation (somewhere between a week but maybe as much as a month) then you should in theory get invited.1 -

Hi there
Unfortunately Eon Next customer service are completely in the dark as to how their customers get selected. One led me down the garden path that it's random and then once I found a thread on the Eon Next community board it appears to even stand a chance of taking part you must amend your eon next profile to half hourly readings and tick the marketing box.
All a complete load of tosh as they will know if you have half hourly smets smart meter and the marketing thing, well they send you your bills and stuff about heat pumps so why not send you this info.
I have a deadlock letter from Eon Next on this and the case is with the ombudsman.
In the meantime Hugo app for energy monitoring offer the energy shifts to you and so do loop (at a 20% costs)0 -
I do not think this scheme will succeed in the medium term. The "agile" price solution is much better when different half-hour slots have different prices. This scheme has no easily measurable objective beyond using as little electricity as possible. I just opt in each time and do nothing special during the allocated timeslot: if I stick close to my base load, then I may win.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0

Have a read of this thread
I do agree though this will be modified following March. Agile is still a tester tariff for Octopus can't see it going main stream from other suppliers for a few years personally it's just too difficult for many to understand.0 -

If you are using their app then look in more->profile and then scroll down to see both settings near the bottom. Think its on the website under profile too.2

DianeWales said:They don't make that clear do they? That you have to have half hourly readings and surely this initiative shouldn't class as "marketing" so that shouldn't exclude people.
