unforeseen said:I use Monzo. Money is kept in pots and only moved to the 'main' pot when required. It means any attempt to take money that was not planned by me fails.I do a similar thing. I keep a current account open with a minimal amount in there (£2 for example) and simply transfer money into that account when I want to buy online. I only use this card for online purchases and it is in no way linked to my "main" account. So if anyone did manage to try and use it, they would be very disappointed!Glad you got it sorted out OP0

Strange that I’m not an IT technician, but I’ve had Amazon for 21 years with 2FA and it all that time I’ve only had the occasional call from an Indian boiler room concerned about activity on my account.
Mind you, unlike an IT technician, I do not put third part carp in my devices, nor order things on any work or public device.I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!0 -

Being in the situation I am in I get to see how many attacks happen on websites and it would blow your mind if you knew the measures companies have to go to in order to protect their sites. Thinking 2FA is 100% safe is just damn stupid.

If you care to go through my posts, you will see I note IT persons as technicians, not engineers. And where I work, we take the risk of so called cyber crime quite seriously and have robust procedures in place to prevent any risk to the equipment we design and use in aviation.I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!0 -
That is awful. If you find out how this happened please let us know.-1

you can go to 'my account' once you log on to Amazon and reset the account ie all devices will be logged out except the one you are logged into and using
obviously if you have Amazon echo etc you'll have to re-log these back in also have to log in on any apps elsewhere etc0 -

This may be an old thread but the Gift Card purchases have reared their ugly head again. My card was used to make 4 lots of £200 Gift Card purchases, allegedly sent to my email address. When I alerted the card isssuer, they confirmed that a total of £1850 had been attempted, but after the first four transactions, the others were declined. They cancelled my card and sent a replacement. They advised me to secure my Amazon account and change password.
I contacted Amazon who said their farud department would contact me wihin 48 hours but, so far, nothing. Then I got an email from Amazon saying my Default Payment needed updating so made one of my other cards the default.
This morning, three lots of £200 were put in the "Pending" part of my new "default" Credit Card. My Amazon account shows only one Gift Card purchased which Amazon immediately refunded. However, the other two transactions are still showing "Pending" and the card issuer said to contact them again in a few days if they don't get removed.
My mind is telling me that, because this happened again AFTER my account was secured, this must be an inside job with someone who knows how the Amazon accounts work. I have now removed all the payment cards from Amazon Wallet and will simply use a Revolut card, pre-loaded with the exact amount, until I know Amazon is secure enough to use.1 -
I removed my cards from Amazon when I got done a few years ago.
I use eBay now if I want anything but I don’t keep a card on there either0
