How can I use a new barcoded £5 stamp

How can I use exchange or swap for 1st class a new barcoded £5 stamp please.
I purchased this stamp 6 months ago or more to return some goods. In he end it was free.
I have now swapped it for the latest bar coded stamp.
HOWEVER.
As it seems I am never likely to use it.
How can I exchange it for lower value stamps [or get money back] please?
Thanks Andrew

Just keep it until next year when that will be the price of a 1st class stamp.
More seriously, I don’t think there is any mechanism for getting it replaced with smaller denomination stamps, as Royal Mail will only (they say) replace like for like, unless no equivalent exists (which it does, for a £5 stamp). As such, I think your only options are to hold on to it and use it as part postage when sending a parcel in the future or try and sell it to someone else (although for £5, it might not raise enough to be worth the hassle).Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j1 -

If you are on very good terms with the staff at your local Post Office, they might do an under the counter swap but this would mess up their accounting so my also see a swift refusal.I need to think of something new here...0 -
Thanks NBYes top answer.
Add postage too ha haCheers Andy0 -
My stamp dealer would happily swap a barcoded £5 for 150x 3½p stamps! Or any denomination really.0

OkayI'll do that.
Who is it. Where do I contact them.

You could sell something fitting a final packed royal mail max size of 61cm x 46cm x 46cm that you dont need or want around the house anymore.
Any other postage could be used this is just a example
Do so on ebay when a 80% offer comes along which makes the exercise more worthwhile for lower value items you dont want or need.
You would have to do this over the PO counter buying another .35p of stamps as sending a medium package 2nd class sized as above is £5.35
This suits heavy items up to 20kg
If you charge say £5.35 -£6.00 postage your total ebay return will be a fiver in your favour .
Effectively turning it into cash as part of the transaction.
Chances are postage prices will increase in april so the sooner the better
