Vanguard in specie transfer in - 1 week and done!

This is a bit of a 'credit where due' thread as I've seen a lot of commentary suggesting that 'in specie' transfers tend to take a lot longer - well in this case, Mrs Arty managed to get a Fidelity to Vanguard transfer of her ISA completed within a week (from when the transfer was initiated on the Vanguard website).

Frankly a bit shocked that that was even possible, I was expecting a couple of months minimum. Anyway she's happy. I'm sure my pension transfers will take a heck of a lot longer...

Where there many funds involved, and presumably they were Vanguard funds?

If the funds transferred were Vanguard funds (as they must be to be held on that platform), then this is an unusual situation where the entity responsible for transferring the ISA is related to the entity responsible for re-registering the underlying assets. A similar situation to an internal transfer, though it suggests Fidelity was quick to respond to the transfer request and provide the list of holdings to re-register.

Yes it was a single VLS holding being moved in, it obviously makes sense that this 'should' make it simpler, but even so, that's far far quicker than we were expecting...
