Pip managing toilet needs.

Hi all. Would soiling yourself a couple of times a month due to IBS count towards managing toilet needs?

Is this PIP or SADP?
For PIP the guidance is here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-independence-payment-assessment-guide-for-assessment-providers/pip-assessment-guide-part-2-the-assessment-criteria
And SADP the guidance is here https://www.socialsecurity.gov.scot/guidance-resources/guidance/decision-making-guide
For toilet needs, specifically this one https://www.socialsecurity.gov.scot/asset-storage/production/downloads/07.-Daily-living-component-activity-5-for-Adult-Disability-Payment_-Managing-toilet-needs-or-incontinence.pdf
Remember it's about the majority of the time and reliably. Majority of the time meaning, the majority of the time you would reasonably be expected to undertake that activity. https://www.socialsecurity.gov.scot/asset-storage/production/downloads/33.-Reliability-criteria-for-Adult-Disability-Payment.pdf
On the face of it, *without further information*, once or twice a month not managing incontinence to an acceptable standard (soiling oneself) probably wouldn't count as it's very much not the majority of the time. Wearing incontinence pads or underwear would count as an aid to managing it though.
Also depends on whether you need help to clean up afterwards too.1 -
PIP is about how you are on the majority of days. Something that only happens twice a month isn't going to get you points.Wobblyjoe said:Hi all. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1 -
It's for SADP. Thanks for the reply Spoonie_Turtle.Spoonie_Turtle said:Is this PIP or SADP?
