Good morning Gers, thanks for starting. It's very cold with a heavy frost, it looks like snow. The staircase and landing ceiling is going to be painted today, so at least we're making a start.I went to Newcastle yesterday, didn't buy much, really I didn't need anything, I just wanted to get out of the house. I bought a couple of card making items and some toiletries from T*Maxx.I saw some casual trousers I liked in M&*, I didn't try them, but I can go back. There's an M&S nearer here anyway, I can go there. Dh had gone to a club connected with his hobby, but was back before me.Glad to see all the posts yesterday, I hope it continues. I wouldn't like to see this thread fade away.Hope everyone has a good day today, thinking of our poorlies.Take care folks, stay warm.11

I turned my electric blanket on before heading for the loo and coffee, now it's so cosy to be back in bed.Yesterday was very long. I left home at 7.30am so the drive down was slower than normal, windy roads, rain and no street lights. I dropped in to drink tea and chat with Camelot, was so lovely to catch up. And she gave me a box of Maltesers! 😀Next stop was JL where I succumbed to buying a T-shirt and cardigan / jacket for my May trip. Then I got my EE router sorted in their shop which only took two minutes. More whizzing around a few places and got home by 4.00pm. The drive home was much faster, drier and very enjoyable. I indulged in eating a focaccia sandwich from my second favourite Italian cafe with a glass of wine then headed for bed.Topsy - what a dreadful experience for you, and not acceptable. Please contact the PALS team at the hospital to make a complaint. Everything was wrong and you should not have to buy a mattress for the hospital bed. I'm outraged for you.How lovely to have so many lurkers posting, such a treat. There's no need to post early, just posting is enough. We all have different routines. Even though I'm retired I wake very early each day and am in bed early too - definitely a lark. I enjoy the quiet of watching dawn break and gently easing into my day.Hugs and thoughts to our poorlies and missing. Happy Sunday to all.11

Morning all. Bit dank and dark here in Kent. Some furniture we are selling being collected this morning, then lunch at family members later.

Morning everyone and thanks for the start @Gers x
I didn't manage to post yesterday but did manage a 2lb loss at FC (yay) and DH and I covered 5/8 kitchen chairs with new Orla K fabric. The existing faux leather was way past it's best after 10 years of use. We had a cheeky chicken shish takeaway last night as too pooped to cook!
Food shopping today at A!di and will take DD with me as she's back to uni later and we like to send her back with provisions for the first few days. Dinner will be SW Cheesy Tuna Pasta Bake using quark and the second tin of (gold plated) artichokes. Can't say I'm keen on either, so it'll be good to use them up!
We will do some housework today
So lovely to see new faces on this thread - welcome to you all and I look forward to getting to know you
Glad you had a good trip to Glasgow @Gers and lovely to pop in on @camelot1001
Outrageous about the hospital bed @topsyturphy - definitely make a complaint. I hope your DS is doing okay now he's home x
Take it easy @nannywindow - hope you're not too bruised and battered x
Glad you're doing okay @mehefin - keep warm out there! x
Sorry if I've missed anyone's news. Wishing you all a good day and hugs to all the poorlies.

Good morning, not such a hard frost this morning and a beautiful red sky. Not checked forecast yet.
We have a new to us dog, CB is supposedly a cocker spaniel/collie X, he is 6 years old and has been here 12 weeks tomorrow, we had him from Dogs Trust and to say that he has given us a kick up the butt in respect of keeping us busy and doing a lot of walking is a bit of an understatement, but he is cuddly and fun (with periodic mad spells) and we are sure that he will have some great adventures with us. Yesterday's tally was 9,777 steps, with CB doing a lot more on a long leash.
Not sure what is in store today other than the mandatory 2 walks as OH is particularly slow this morning, I made the mistake of giving him my new "Vera" book to read (particularly generous of me as not read it myself yet LOL) and I am hardly getting a word out of him.
Have a great day all, big thanks to Gers for starting us off again. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Another frosty start and minus 2 when I got up. The frozen snow is still with us but as we are forecast slightly milder temps this week it might soon be gone!
Phase 2 of the cough that keeps on giving is still with me but it's a different cough to the one over Xmas and NY. I hope there isn't a Phase 3 as I am sick to death of coughing. But at least the runny nose has stopped running so a small mercy!
After a day slobbing on the sofa yesterday I have a few necessary jobs to do this morning before I retreat into sloth mode again.. Nothing too taxing. I have a wash load on the go and that will festoon the upstairs with the dehumidifier doing its thing. Then I want to make my usual soup supply to accompany my lunchtime sarnies in the coming week. I think maybe leek and potato for a change. Lunch yet to christen today will have a freezer dive shortly and see what appeals. Another day for comfort eating I think.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies. Wow the Daily hit 3 pages yesterday, onwards and upwards and welcome to more newbies! Welcome! TOPSY what a day yesterday, I think a complaint is in order for the way you and your DS were treated. It's not on. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning everyone. We have freezing fog here this morning, but I have no plans for today.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday.10 -
Morning all.
Horrible freezing fog when driving home at midnight last night and still freezing outside now, although the sun's out. I'm fed up with this cold weather and wish it would end.
No real plans for today. DH is doing a roast as a late lunch and I want to watch the 3pm rugby on TV. If the weather was better I'd be out there walking or geocaching so I think that's what's making me a bit miserable.
Made two lemon drizzle cakes yesterday and took one over to DD's. Will try not to eat too much of the one in our kitchen!
Have a good Sunday everyone.11
