Notice of Intended Prosecution for unrecognised car

I have received a letter (actually 2 letters) for speeding from Met Police. After I read the letter I found that the reg plate is of a car 2007 Mercedes C200 which I have never seen in my life, same as the plate number. The name and address on the letter are correct though the car is not mine. By the way when it happened I was home sleeping (5am and 2am).
There is no phone in the letter, there is only a form I have to fill in with the name of the driver which obviously I don't know.
Can someone advise what should I do in that case?

Yes tell the truth to the police I have been there with my own son many years ago
Don't try to say who the driver is but you will find other ways to make contact even by going to your local police station
It was distressing but in the end the investigation turn out to be my son had bought a cloned car2 -
I think you need to urgently find out whether the DVLA has you down as the registered keeper of that car.

As we major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for police speeding tickets. Register there but please note that a hotmail address won't work - try using a throwaway gmail account instead if you do have trouble registering and post a new thread; here's your link:Have a read through some of the other threads and use their NiP Wizard there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the police (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Not sure if this is still the appropriate number but it was back in 2018 - 0207 230 1199
If that does not work there is also an online contact form.

Just ring 101 and ask for the MET police, once through to a calltaker ask to speak to someone in the fixed penalty unit. They'll only be open during office hours."a workman, even of the lowest and poorest order, if he is frugal and industrious, may enjoy a greater share of the necessaries and conveniences of life than it is possible for any savage to acquire."0
