Has anyone got push notifications to work for the Barclaycard and Lloyds credit cards?

I have an Android phone - no idea if it's any different for iphones.
I'd like to understand if anyone has got instant push notifications (i.e. every time you make an expense on the credit card) to work with either Barclaycard or the Lloyds credit  card (I have the cashback one). I know not everyone finds it useful - for me it's not the end of the world but it's a nice to have as it alerts me to potential fraud and reminds me of recurring subscriptions (if any).

I understand that, in theory, the Barclay app should send you instant app notifications when you spend on your credit  card. However, I have never got it to work. I have tried both the Barclays and the Barclaycard app, enabled notifications in the app, enabled the Android settings which allow notifications for the app, exempted the app from battery optimisation, the whole lot, but nothing.

So I applied for a Lloyds credit card because their helpdesk told me that their app sends instant notifications when the credit card is used. Tried it. Doesn't work. Now they are saying there was a misunderstanding, that notifications are only on the debit card but might come to the credit  card soon.

What's your experience? Thanks!

    I've asked a few times about notifications for the Lloyds credit card, it's always 'something they're considering'.
  • At least they didn't blatantly lied to you telling you they had already been implemented!

    I have the Natwest credit card, which doesn't charge foreign exchange fees abroad, and does send instant notifications. The appeal of the Lloyds and Barclays cards is the cashback.

    Bit of a thread resurrection so apologies.

    Anyone with the Barclays app getting unexpected notifications ?

    I've had a few contactless payment declined messages, I have all the debit card features disabled as I use credit cards for everything, so contactless payments should be rejected. I asked in the branch and they couldn't see any rejected contactless payments.

    Also just now I had a payment of £10.95 was made notification, checked account and no payments have been made for days.

    No irregular payments etc sp happy the account is secure as it can be.
