Quick update on progress for those interested.
 
The lion's share of investments have now migrated over to the new platform although it has been a slightly drip drip approach and hard to reconcile exactly what is still outstanding and whether there are any accrued cash balances that also need to move. It has taken the best part of a month to get to this point where I calculate about 20% of my previous investments are still in transit. The GIA accounts moved before the ISA accounts. 

A small number of funds/trusts could not be accommodated by the new provider and so I had to instruct their sale and a transfer of cash instead. This potentially leaves me uninvested for a part of the portfolio but given the relatively small sums involved I can live with it. I would have rather this had been completed in August but it seems to have slipped.

The new platform informs me that the final lines should come over by the end of the week at which point I will need to do a thorough reconciliation to make sure it all adds up. 

It has certainly been less painful than anticipated to date but I'll wait until its complete to pass judgement. Once all the individual stocks/funds/trusts are transferred then I will review and look to liquidate most to massively simplify my holding into a few passive tracking funds. How to minimise time out of the market whilst doing these trades needs some thought.
